Hi Steemit!: Quit Hollywood to Travel. Introduceyourself
Hi fellow Steemit Friends!
Just wanted to post and introduce myself. I'm Roman Lillie (from the US) and I quit my job in Hollywood to travel.
Here I am at the Emmys Award Show. It looks really glamorous on the surface, but working in Television was anything but. It reality it was a brutal and exhausting job that didn't feel at all fulfilling.
I spent all day staring at my computer, doing work I didn't believe in. I was only there for the paycheck, and I wasn't even making a lot of money (Los Angeles is Expensive!).
So I quit my job to travel and I couldn't be happier. My travels have taken me all over Asia, including India (which I loved visiting - I'll post about that soon).
And the travels are continuing. I'm currently based in Thailand because now that I've been traveling, I have no interest in going back to the States and having another mundane desk job. I'm now fully committed to a "location-independent" lifestyle, and living as a digital nomad.
And I'm super excited to join Steemit! Look forward to meeting everyone!

I'm @andyluy and I've been here for almost 2 months, and I can tell you that steemit is the most amazing thing I've ever seen at the internet so far. I'm happy seeing it grows every day!
I had some hard time on the firsts week, so I spent some time searching information to improve my experience with it, latter I've decided to make posts about those and others helpful information in order to help the new ones to have a shortcut to get deeper knowledge of steemit and its potencial.

Welcome to Steemit @romanlillie, I don't often follow rookies here but I have always wanted to travel to India so I want to see your photos, hahaha. Also I love SE Asia, cool that you are based in Chiang Mai, that's kind of a digital nomad mecca now isn't it? Anyhow hope you enjoy this place, you got a 100% upvote from me for quitting your job and hitting the dusty trail :) Steemit can be a great way for a digital nomad to support themselves, if you get a good following. Looking forward to seeing your travel photos!
@dexter-k Haha thanks! I'll do my best not to disappoint you with the posts. India is coming soon. I also make lots of videos so the India ones are coming. Chiang Mai is a HUGE digital nomad Mecca so I'm in paradise here. It's my DN friends who told me about Steemit!

Good on you! Sometimes I wish I could travel but I am too much a homely person with my family. I've been to a few countries but nothing like this. Safe travels :)
@spaceginger Yes, I figure I should get all of my big adventures in before I settle down. If I ever settle down haha I do love travel, but I'm also a home-body actually and love being in one place at times. If I really love a country or city, I'll stay for a few months...
