Hi! I am Rosalie and I am an architect and a mom...

...but not necessarily in order of importance.

I feel like this is the first day of class and I have to stand up and introduce myself in front of a lot of people. My thoughts during these times are always in a jumble and it's so difficult to disclose who I am concisely so here goes...

I am one of the architects in the University of the Philippines. This is also where I studied and got my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I took my Master's degree while working and majored in Architectural Science. My research deals with architectural lighting in historic buildings using solar power. From there, I got interested in conservation and history that I also enrolled in Archaeology. I am currently trying to complete my diploma but due to work and family, I kept on postponing my field work which is a major requirement. I aspire to do more research with my spare time in the future.

I work in the Office of the Campus Architect, an in-house architectural and engineering office, that handles renovation and new construction projects within the University. I mainly do design and project supervision. My projects include dormitories, libraries, and performance spaces. I love how varied my experiences are since I get the chance to design, check my projects, meet people, and not just focus on documentation.

I am also a mom of two. My first born is already 9 years old and my second only turned 2 last December. I love writing but it was only when I had my eldest that I had the inspiration to write a blog https://lifewithjandj.wordpress.com. The blog is mainly to document our life as a family so I can remember the stories behind our pictures. I made this for relatives and friends and to veer away from the usual posts from other social media platforms. Feel free to drop by and say hello!

Aside from architecture and family, I also have other interests such as arts and crafts. I do bento box designs, which I started when my daughter went to school, watercolor painting, and polymer clay miniatures. Art is a great stress reliever and a medium for self-expression. I hope to impart not just my life but my creations as well.

What I hope to achieve in joining the Steemit community is to have a place to share my thoughts, ideas, and projects in a separate space from my family blog. It would also be nice to meet new friends who share my interest in art and architecture. So thank you for allowing me to be part of this community.

Welcome to steemit architect @rosaliefb :) ... When I was a child, I once dream to become an architect, but ended up to take engineering. Haha,. I don't know the reason, but I know that God has a purpose for this. :) :) :)

Thank you! You picked a great choice haha! Architecture and Engineering complement each other because they both improve our built environment.
