Hi Steemos! This is my introduction, so here we go:

How did you find Steemit?

My brother recently told me about cryptocurrencies and their use on the internet.
I already knew Bitcoin and was aware that this is something new and exciting, but I wasn’t aware of the fact how exciting all this is. For me, there was the story of that guy, who bought a pizza for Bitcoins a few years ago and possibly regrets it nowadays.
And suddlenly I heared about Ethereum and its potenty to change our economy with its smart contracts, I heared about proof of work and it’s disadvantages compared to proof of stake and so on.
This was the moment I felt like Leonardo DiCaprio on Django: It had my curiosity. But now it’s got my attention.

And this is how I found you guys. Scrolling the Internet for informations, I came across Steem and Steemit. I really like the idea of having a social media using the blockchain technology. I rarely use Facebook anymore, they collect to many informations about me, sniff around in my browser and sell data to companies.
I don’t like that. And so it didn’t take too long to decide to join Steemit.

But we can deepen those topics later, now I just want to introduce myself:

Who are you?

G’day fellas, I’m s0phos,a twenty six years old guy from Berlin, Germany
( So please don’t judge me by my typos and the misuse of capitalization and my german way of using grammar .. :) )
I study philosophy at Freie Universtität Berlin. I plan to work as a mediator, since I feel that I have the ability to help people to connect to both, their own needs and their opposite’s. In conflicts, many people loose the ability to proper communication. Instead of making their opposite understanding why they feel the way like they do -beeing angry or sad with some behavoir - they go attacking them with insults and accusations. This is where I come in: I help pointing out the “what-I-meant” behind the “what-I-said”, decreasing heat and to give some structure, so people stop running in circles and come along. I am convinced that many negative Situations can be transformed into positive ones. Once one developed understanding and compassion for their opposite’s behavoir, one will develop respect – and will show that respect, when self to be respected. Instead of stressing out the bad and pointing fingers, people start to search for solutions and compromises and help each other to make Life beautiful and abundantly

– its human nature.

Often it is a long and stony road -and a challenge to walk it down!- but worth going.

What can we expect you to write about

Besides mediation and it’s faces, I’ll write mostly about philosophic issues such as:

  • theoretical disciplines of philosophy; regarding humans as a understanding and learning beings, raising Questions such as what is understandable at all and how reliable that knowledge is. Which regularities are found in our observable world and what conclusions can be made out of them.

  • practical disciplines of philosophy; regarding humans as acting beings in a society, raising Questions like what's the nature of ethics, how do they apply, how mandatory they are and which rules could be couched – and if its possible at all.

  • and all between those fixed distinctions. I am a passionate essayist, who loves to go into a topic and examine all its aspects.

My field of interest is pretty wide, I am also interested in

  • tech related stuff; especially the use of Linux and other open source software and, of course, cryptocurrencies and the development of web 3.0

  • European culture, particulary northern-European like icelandic, celtic and germanic stuff

  • Internet culture, memes, and all interesting stuff it has to offer

  • local stuff from Berlin and Germany.

I love seafaring, go sailing and co-founded a sailing club in northern Berlin.
