“Bueller.....Bueller........Bueller.......” Oh! That’s me, let me introduce myself. My name is Sarah Buehler, and yes it is pronounced just like in the movie but only spelled a bit differently. Anyway I am just a week away from turning nineteen and live in the small state of Delaware which is located on the East Coast in the United States. Some fast facts about me are that I am a huge comic nerd, I love to write and I am a passionate Pokemon Go player.

Pokemon is not my only passion though. I am passionate about storytelling, photography and music. For the past four year I have participated in a Global Writing event called NaNoWriMo. This is an event that takes place in November where you try to write a novel of at least 50,000 words in a month. This year I was able to finally finish one of my four novels and am now in the editing process. Besides novels I also love writing poetry and short stories, and hope I am able to share some of these next works with you.

Every great writer has a muse though and mine leads in to my next passion, photography. Everyone says a picture is worth a thousand words and that is true, but without words what would a picture be? I like to use photography as a way to sum up what I am trying to say. When words fail, the world around us keeps spinning; therefore, no matter what the sights around us are they will always be there. This is why I love to take pictures of landscapes and breathtaking views. How did I become passionate about photography though? The answer is simple. I wanted to be able to remember the moments in my life that left a smile on my face or that left me speechless because those moments are worth a thousand words, those moments lead to great stories.

As much as I love photography it is not something I do 24/7. I love listening to music as well as playing music. I have the ability to play both the guitar and drums which I have been playing for about four to five years now. As I said earlier though, Pokemon Go is one of my biggest passions. It may seem weird going around catching different pokemon that are not actually in the real world, but it has lead to me to meeting many new people and helped me be able to express myself more openly in public due to sharing the same interest as so many people. I would honestly have to say I have actually gained a lot from the game, friendships being the biggest gain.

Enough about what I am passionate about though, I want to tell you a little bit more about me. In High school I was the salutatorian of my class which was an amazing achievement that I pushed hard to earn. In addition, I will soon be returning to school this fall to study Education. I plan to become a high school Math teacher, sounds boring but I love math. One of my biggest goals in life since second grade has been to be able to influence the next generation by giving them the tools they need to succeed both academically and personally by showing children they can follow their dreams and that they are not alone, that there are people there for them to push them and direct them to help them.

Besides this I love to travel. I use to live in the snow state of Vermont for about five years where I learned to snowboard and gained many new friends and stories. I learned that every area has a story and to be able to experience the story of West Dover, Vt was amazing. Other trips I have taken include to Louisville, KY where I got the chance to participate in Skills Usa national competition that takes place each summer with thousands of students from across the country. While there I got to meet so many people, learn even more stories and hear about life in other places all while competing in Sheet Metal Fabrication and taking the gold home for 2017. Besides this I have also been to Nebraska which was a very different culture then what I am use to. Currently I have actually been able to travel to a total of 22 states and am making it my goal to go to all 50, as well territories and the islands.

Traveling is not everything though. One thing I find important to me is my family. I am in a family of six children, me being the youngest of the six. Currently I now have three nieces and one nephew who I adore so much. They bring me joy and altogether I realized they are the light of my life, even when it is dark they lighten up my world because a child's innocence is the purest thing.

To wrap this up though I am looking forward to being in this community of writers who hold passion for their work. To me Steemit is like a huge community BBQ. Each of us has the potential to bring an amazing dish and some of us will bring more than one. These “dishes” are our passions that we write about and together we create a place where you can learn from others, experience empathy, discover new logic and ideas and most importantly grow as individuals. I am honored to be here and look forward to reading what you all write and being able to expand your ideas and mine as well.
