Hello Steemit! My name is Ray. I live on a beautiful homestead in the southern United States where I raise my animals, tend to my crop, and trade crypto. The blend of working with cutting edge financial technology and practicing traditional agricultural is a wonderfully meditative experience that I wouldn't trade for the world.
We have chickens...
...and they all have different personalities!
We have (sleepy) turkeys
We have a (spoiled) doggo
We have (also spoiled) guinea pigs
We have many beautiful gardens
And I'm most proud of my beautiful wife! She's my bedrock, my reason why, the light that guides me through the darkness of life and my companion that dances with me during its bright times.
On our land we have a lot of fun, many experiences, and many adventures. I'm excited to welcome everyone into our family and I'm honored to be accepted into yours!
I look forward to being an active part of this growing community, meeting new friends, and sharing the experiences of life with you all!
Leave some feedback if theres anything specific you want to know or see from our homestead and leave a comment so we can get to know one another! Cheers!
- Ray

Hi @sariun! Welcome to (what I believe will become) the best social network on the internet! I know it seems like a like a lot to learn at the start, there are a couple of things you can do without much effort to start getting your followership up quickly.
First, make sure to follow @bot-helper so you have a better chance at getting some exposure on your content. You can check out what I mean by taking a look at this link. Also consider following @minnowsunite and @minnowsupport
Next, take a look around the Steemit community and check out the chat rooms. You want to start getting known, so take a little time to chat with others and promote your introduction link (in the #postpromotion chatroom)
Finally, check out some of the tags and topics on the right side of the dashboard. Find a topic you are interested/knowledgeable in and start commenting. The more great comments you make, the better chance you have for people to start following you! Feel free to follow me as well (@randomness) so we can go on this journey together!
P.S. - I love that you homestead. I'm hoping I'll also be able to transition into a more self-sufficient lifestyle. Until then, I just prep!
Thanks so much for all that advice! Its been super helpful so far.
Prepping is a major part of homesteading! It doesn't require too much space to get a project going. I recommend The Essential Urban Farmer by Novella Carpenter; its a great resource when getting started.
Here's to learning and growing together! Cheers!
Thank you and I'm glad I could help. The way I see it, just gaining the right mindset is the biggest battle. Once you've overcome that, you can wade into different projects and pick up some extra skills along the way. Thanks for the book recommendation, I'll look it up! :-)
