Hello stemmians, I am sirwhite. This is my story.

IMG_20180405_204228_693.jpgHey guys I am Robert Godwin, I am the last born in a family of 6. I feel so much joy making my first post here on steemit. I have been a member of this platform for about 3 months now and I am now determined to contribute my quota to this wonderful community.

I am a student of the University of Uyo in Nigeria. I'm undergoing a first degree programme in the department of Petroleum Engineering

Its been five years now and I'm gradually getting to the end of my studies. I love my life very much as it is a gift from God. I like being among real friends who have my concerns at heart. I am a very jovial person and very fun to be with. My friends call me #sirwhite because of my admirable personality. I am a very delightful giver, and I'll always keep giving.

MY HOBBIES
I enjoy playing instruments like guitar (lead in particular). I am also a skillful keyboardist. I love cycling a lot as i consider it to be sports and pleasure. And I enjoy the company of the ladies too #winks.IMG_20180225_120234.jpg(after service with a friend and brother)

HOW I GOT INTRODUCED TO STEEMIT.
It was a calm evening and I was sitting right outside my apartment at night when a mate @essiential broke the news of steemit to me. At first I thought it was a ponzi, but I didn't want to be in a hurry to conclude so I gave him my attention as he preached. He explained to me how things go here. That one gets rewarded for creative content. He also took the pain to debrief me about the whole crypto thing and how bit coin influences the crypto market greatly. After all was said, I knew I had to take up the challenge. There and then I signed up for a new account and waited anxiously for my account to be verified. Finally I got my account and then it dawned it me. Lol. I didn't know how to start couple with the fact that my exams were approaching and had a lot of unfinished work to do(yeah, I'm a bit of procrastinator).
Months went by and all I did was view trending post that had great amounts as payout. The rewards got me eager to get involved and also get rewarded as well. Here I am today, I have finally made my first post. Isn't that worthy of recommendation?

I'm hopeful my stay here will be rewarding as I look forward to working with everyone here. I am very excited I have become an active user of this platform. I have no regrets at all. I have come to realize that I was wasting my time and resources on other social sites that showed no little appreciation for my patronage.

Thanks to @samstickkz(a steemit veteran), @ejemai(founder of stach, Nigeria) @ubongj(crazy talented photographer), @delaw(peaceful fellow) @essiential, @mbj, @udembahenry and of course the beautiful ladies like:@julietisreal(my most favorite female Nigerian steemian), @gee1(a fun full and vibrant lady) and many more too numerous that I can't afford to mention. You guys have been a great motivating factor to me, I say more SBD to your wallets!

Wish me happy steeming!

Hello sirwhite! Welcome to Steemit! Hope you'll like the community here. Here are 5 essential tips that will help facilitate your onboarding process:

  1. Keep your passwords safe: Unlike conventional sites, Steemit has 4 types of passwords. Each offers varying degrees of access to your account, so know where and when to use each of the 4 passwords and make sure to keep them all safe and secure.
  2. Get Steem rewards: You have the option to choose how to receive your post reward: "Default 50%/50%" or "Power Up 100%". As of this moment, choosing Default 50%/50% is the better option. But this will change over time. Check our post for more details.
  3. Upvote wisely: When upvoting, wait at least 30 minutes after the post is published to maximize your curation reward. Also make sure not to upvote too much too fast so as not to drain your voting power.
  4. Know your Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power: Steem and Steem Dollars are the 2 main currencies here. Converting and powering up more Steem into Steem Power will enable you to have higher value on upvotes.
  5. Have Fun and Enjoy!

Hello! I’ve been here since January and wish someone had given me the following links when I made my introduction post. I could have done better sooner.
Steemworld.org is a free service that interfaces with steemit.com and provides a wealth of information about your account. Use your own @handle to access your account information.

If you are coming here to pick a fight be advised that they have a flagging system here that penalizes your account “wallet” for unacceptable behavior. This a post will help avoid problems:

Don’t beg for upvotes or resteems:

One of the biggest mistakes I made was that I was too anxious to get into this platform and did not read ALL of the Frequently Asked Questions: Read the whole thing including the “White Paper”. You will not regret taking the time to learn these important facts:

This is about the slow grind to gain reputation and steem power:

I typically post and resteem articles helpful to new steemians. If you choose to follow me I will be happy to answer your questions.

Good luck and have fun!

Thank you, that was helpful
