Hi, My name is Adrian, AKA SocaChinee

Yesterday I watched my youngest daughter walk by herself for the first time. The happiness on her face is definitely something I won’t forget for a very long, long time. And the amazing thing is that my older daughter who will be turning 4 in September was encouraging her to take her little sister’s first steps.

Mya would stand in front her little sister and say,

“Come Alyssa, Come... You can do it.”

I’m so glad I was there to witness this accomplishment for Alyssa and for Mya to lead the way for her little sibling.

And with that I would like to introduce myself to the SteemIt community of Blockchain users.

Hi my name is Adrian (AKA SocaChinee)

I’m here to help people shake up the world of the internet with you Steem people.

Originally, I’m from Trinidad and Tobago, a twin island country in the Caribbean. It is an amazing island to have been brought up there and proud to have experienced life with the amount of diversified people living there which can be reflected by the number of festivities, like the Hindu festival Divali, the Muslim festival Eid-ul-Fitr and of course our Carnival celebrations just to name a few. You have not experienced Carnival until you experience it in Trinidad and Tobago. It is one of the largest street festivals in the world with its calypso soca and chutney music, the parade itself and the Battle of the Bands.

For the past 18 years I’ve been in the IT industry, spending about 90% of the time coding different projects from system development, software development, web development, database development and mobile development.

As of a few years ago I have been getting involved in digital marketing and creating blueprints for businesses to layout their digital marketing strategy from their website silo architecture and design, their content promotion and scheduling, and their sales and conversion funnels. A lot of it deals with data analysis and ROI which is probably why I feel comfortable doing what I do.

At the beginning of this year [January 22nd, 2016] I decided to burn my ships. I was really getting sick of the whole day-to-day of travelling to work every day in traffic, working for someone else etc. After work I would be with my family and when they were all asleep I would work on my gig – sometimes till like 3 or 4 am.

I think what really was getting to me is that I’ve spent 18 years doing the same thing over and over again ... do I want to continue what I’m doing for another 18 years? That was the scary part…

You know what the definition of Insanity is?
Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

It has been a journey so far and success is just around the corner. There are many opportunities out there you just have to work hard and have a good head on your shoulders.

Always know your WHY and the one thing you should do is

“Never, never give up.”

Anyway I hope I’ve made some contribution so far to SteemIt and please connect with me below in the comments section. I would love to connect and get to know some great people here on this platform.

Welcome @socachinee - leaving the rat race behind is a dream that many of us share. Here's to us all taking our future into our own hands. Sharon

Yes I'm with you there @pinkyh60

Man I can relate to this. Only yesterday I watched my daughter take her first steps.

Today she is 23. What the heck happened? Don't let anyone tell you time travel isn't possible, I have proof of 23 years going by in 5 minutes.

The thing about the Rat Race.... even if you get to the very top.... you're still a RAT.

So well done. Onwards and upwards!

What a beautiful family! Great things ahead with what you'll create for them (and yourself) here.
