@steemparents is the new hub for sharing wonderful stories about being a parent. This account will be used to curate and reward great parenting/family posts on steemit.
Children are the future,
and the awesome steemians we have around here who are raising our future, often don't get the kudos they are due. Being a parent is a job that goes unnoticed, because it's a job that's expected of someone who brings new life into the world.
We're here to bring parents together, not just to be rewarded, but to talk about the joys, the hardships, and everything in between! We have set up a Discord Chatroom to begin organizing and curating. You'll find a post-promotion channel to share your stories, and we'll be hosting contests and giveaways to spread some love!
This is a manual curation effort. No bots are involved.
We believe the only good way to curate is with good old fashioned reading. We'll be giving out votes and resteems generously, and hope to grow to the point we need to "hire" extra steemians to help with the effort.
We have created the #steemdads and #steemmoms tags, and would love to see more people using them to tell their stories!
@daddykirbs can make you a badge like the two shown below, for just 1 STEEM/SBD! Once we've got some funding, we'll be buying a few for parents who use these tags.
These badges are in no way required to participate in any part of this effort.
They are simply a way to show everyone you're a proud parent when posting.

This account has been a long time coming, but this morning, while scrolling through the #steemdads tag, I finally decided today was the day to kick it into high gear!
A very special Thank You goes out to @dinoo and @sgnsteems, who helped fund this account to get it steeming!
We still need a bit of help in the way of SteemPower so we're able to start rewarding amazing parents for what the do best!
We would greatly welcome any donations to our cause. The first 25 steem/sbd donated will be used to pay a steemian to provide an original logo for the account, so we can get rid of thus beautiful placeholder I found on Pixabay. The rest will be converted to steempower to begin the curation effort.
If you'd like to make a 'less-permanent' donation, @timcliff wrote a great tutorial on steempower delegation using busy.org, or you can use Vessel by @jesta to 'lend' some power to us!
While this was being written, @sumatranate donated 10 Steem to the cause! Thanks, man!

STOP@steemparents , I think this is a great idea! It's the first of its kind (funny, 'kind' is the Dutch word for 'child') without voting bots involved (that I'm aware of)! I don't have children myself, but I have a lot of children in my surroundings (family, friends) and I sometimes feel like a dad while I am playing with them, teaching them some new stuff (they are so proud if you learn them new things, I love to do it!)... keep up the good work, keep on bringing people together, keep on working on this amazing community like you're doing!!!
