How to do an introduce yourself without being weird?

Introduce yourself! Not an easy task.

What to say, when we are asked that kind of question?
Should we tell our whole life story then?
Or just our accomplishments?
Or what our own value system is based on?
Are the people asking even interested?
Or is it just a formal question they are asking to show interest?
I fear a bit talking about myself to strangers.
What the others might think of the story?

The question leaves a lot of freedom for the writer/speaker/...
We can talk about anything.
About the things, that are the most important to us, the things we identify ourselfs with.
About our mission in life.

About the dreams we have and the goals we want to reach.

And I think dreams and goals are very important in life - to be in progress and so to be happy.
So I will tell you about my dreams and goals.

Introducing Myself

After a time being lost in my desert of life, following paths, that didnt fit to me, I started traveling.

Literally.

I always feared to travel far and alone. I stayed in my comfort zone.
In my hometown, where I lived my whole life up to then.
But then I gave myself a push - and suddenly, it felt magic.

Where I traveled to, does'nt really matter. But what I found while traveling, was enlightening.
Being at home I often felt like a stranger, an outsider, who did not really fit in.

Maybe you know that feeling.

But it felt like, when I traveled, I was allowed to be myself. Because nobody knew me.
Nobody had an image of me, how I am.
So I could create myself completely new. In a way, I wanted myself to be.
My character started changing. I became more open. Dropped my fear to talk to strangers.

As I did that, I found out, that I really like getting to know people. Everybody has such a great story to tell, so many challanges mastered.
And I found a strenght in me. I am kind of enthusiastic. And in this way I love to motivate people.

I ask everybody I know closer about their dreams and goals.
It's so much fun, to see how people grow over their own boundaries and develope a life, they have never dreamed of.

That's one of the most fulfilling things I can imagine. Making people happy.

The good thing is, when we as humans become more happy, we start doing good things.
We start caring about others.
We start thinking, how we ourselfs could make other people happy.
We spread happiness and that grows exponentially.

And the world changes for the better. Thats what I love about that.

I am dreaming of becoming someone who spreads happiness.

And I want to go to the moon one day, just to have a look. Seriously.

So that are my goals and dreams.

What is your story? And most of all, what are your dreams and goals? Do you work on them right now or is something holding you back?

And please be shure, that's not just a formal question, but really something I would like to know!
Thank you!

Hello sunshineintheair! Welcome to Steemit! Hope you'll like the community here. As a start, here are 5 tips that we believe will be helpful to you:

  1. Keep your passwords safe: Unlike conventional sites, Steemit has 4 types of passwords. Each offers varying degrees of access to your account, so know where and when to use each of them. Also, make sure to keep them all safe and secure.
  2. Get Steem rewards: When writing a post, you'll have the option to choose how to receive your reward: "Default 50%/50%" or "Power Up 100%". As of this moment, choosing Default 50%/50% is the better option. But this can change over time. Check our post to know more.
  3. Upvote wisely: When upvoting, wait at least 30 minutes after the post is published to maximize your curation reward. Also, make sure not to upvote too much too fast so as not to drain your voting power.
  4. Know your Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power: Steem and Steem Dollars are the 2 main currencies here. Convert and power up more Steem into Steem Power so you can have higher values on your upvotes.
