Steemit Newbie Coming in Hot | 1st Post (AHH!)

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemit!!

Pretty pumped to be on here and FINALLY post my introduction. As I mention in my video, I was nervous to join (and even a lil nervous writing this post) BUT I am excited to join a large community that seem to be full of encouraging and positive individuals.

In addition to giving you all a glimpse into who I am with words below, I thought I would also post a video introducing myself to you all to 1.) Show you I am a real person and 2.) To add some personality and a voice to what you are reading here. :)

So, who is @theaudgirl?

I named myself “theaudgirl” because I strongly believe in embracing individuality and what makes you different even if you stand out and may be considered an “oddfit” in society. I’m “aud” (get it? Like “odd” lol), quirky, laugh a ton, and try my best to stay authentic to myself in this social media age full of filters.

Just like a lot of people who join Steemit, I was attracted to the idea that is a platform that is a new era of social media. To me, this positive community is what social media was intended for – sharing interests, documenting life, and making genuine connections with others around the world. Additionally, I love that it integrates blockchain technology, which I feel has the capability to change the world for the better in so many ways.

What You Will See Me Post

While this may change as things come up, these are the topics that you will see me focus on:

  • Fitness : My stance on fitness is one that combines fitness and body empowerment. Often, people think that the two contradict as in if I believe your body is perfect and free from flaws (which it is) why should you work out? Simply, it is to encourage people to live a long, healthy life. I don’t think of being healthy as focusing on numbers, like the scale, but more so focusing on energy levels. I try to help people improve their relationship with food, fitness, and their body. There’s a balance with food and life, and being healthy should never stress you out, so I mainly focus on an 80% rule for eating healthy - ice cream is my weak spot ;).

  • Recipes : A guilty pleasure of mine is looking at all the delicious recipes that people post on social media and I want to share with you some that I try and also create new ones for you all.

  • Cryptocurrency : I could research cryptocurrency for days and in the past, my Friday nights consisted of looking at charts and trying to find the best time to buy in. #FridayNightGoals am I right? So, plan to see my take on some coins, updates in the crypto world, and posts that aim to simplify cryptocurrency and blockchain.

  • Life : I plan to share with you stories that you may find interesting or funny. They may be random (weird stuff tends to happen to me), or they may be recaps from a weekend trip that I take.

Welcome to DTube @theaudgirl :-)

THANK YOU! Was nervous to post on Dtube but happy I did. Awesome platform. Do you have any tips for a dtube newbie?

Welcome :)

Hello, @theaudgirl, and welcome to Steemit.

That's a great introduction and an excellent post.

Apparently you have plenty to bring to this platform and to your fellow Steemians. And given the quality of this post, we can assume that you will continue to create high-quality posts full of useful and significant content. Do that, and you'll be well on your way to success in this community.

Also, it's a good idea to get out there and "curate" every day. Scroll through your Steemit feed, scroll through those feeds that you are passionate about, and find posts that are interesting,

Read, comment, and upvote. Rinse and repeat. Do that, and you'll be well on your way to MAJOR success in this community.

Best of luck, and Full Steem Ahead.

Thank you for taking the time to post such a thoughtful comment and for the advice! I will definitely do what you're saying to and make sure to curate every day in some way, even if that is commenting and upvoting great content!

Thank you again - I appreciate your kind words.

Cool. That's all you really have to do. Create great (or at least "high-quality") content, and find, read, comment on, and upvote that great (or at least "high-quality") content produced by others.

Voila, success on Steemit.

2 follow-up bits of advice ...

Longer posts are better and more lucrative, particularly those that have a balance of fine test and good photos / images.

At the same, however, that can be difficult at first. So, shorter posts are OK, but for those, it's best to do either of the following:

1 - Enter regular photo contests, such as this one ... @photocontests (run by @juliank)
and the photo challenges run by @theexplorer

2 - Make a series of posts. If you check out my blog, @majes.tytyty, you'll see that I do a Lou Reed Lyrics series. I started with a full anthology, but now I'm posting the individual entries with brief commentary.

Such short posts are not very time consuming for either me or the readers, but somewhat informative, possibly interesting, and minimally lucrative.

Onwards!!
