Hello fellow humans of the world (and Steemit)! My name is Malika and I’m a 15 year old queer vegan (almost 16 woo!!) food blogger from Boston, Massachusetts. I enjoy making food recipes, am an avid pianist, and thrift shop lover. My primary platform is on Instagram but I recently (literally yesterday) discovered Steam through a fellow food blogger known as @therusticvegan on here! The concept of Steem intrigues me, and I can’t wait to know this platform and community more!

I currently go to school as a sophomore at a boarding school in New Hampshire (this isn't a military school contrary to pop culture beliefs :P) where I live in a beautiful community of fellow students and teachers. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to go to this school and have truly grown in the last few months I’ve been there. I hope to study nutritional sciences after graduating from high school (health is wealth pals!), and later getting a plant-based nutrition certificate. I may write about this as I go onwards with this blog!

I went vegan about a year and a half ago after being vegetarian for two years. I grew up in a meat-eating family and going veg at first was difficult especially since it was nearly unheard of in Algerian cuisine (my dad’s food), but over the years my family has accepted my food choices, and I’ve seen my food choices affect theirs! Going vegan has become a gateway into a whole new way of life and experiences for me. I’ve met an amazing group of vegans through social media and others who are open to this lifestyle. I discovered spirituality through this (shoutout to my dude Koi Fresco he has some cool videos!!) and have seen myself grow immensely as a compassionate human being.

I got into food blogging during the summer of 2016 and have recently been more consistent about it as I’ve found how to balance school, life, and creating content ( if only we had more time in a day!) . I enjoy veganizing traditionally non-vegan foods as well as creating recipes on my own! My love of cooking stemmed from growing up in a creative kitchen with my parents who always cooked different types of foods from traditional Algerian and Chinese cuisine to Italian food. My parents allowed me to help in the kitchen and my love for food has truly stemmed from there.

Here are some additional facts about me:
-I love love love LOVE pigs and cows they’re so beautiful!
-I’ve been playing the piano since the age of 5 and I’m very passionate about it
-I have the coolest roommate in the world at school
-I’m into Hinduism and Buddhism and have been getting into crystal healing!

-I’m a diehard fan of Harry Potter and will gladly marathon it anytime, anywhere.
-I love biking and yoga!
-I can be extremely sarcastic at times, but it's all with love :)

I hope to share with you guys on this blog posts with food recipes, tips on how to stay healthy, my thoughts and growth in the spiritual world, and thoughts on life and more! Thanks for checking this post out~
