Hey, everyone! Anthony Fantano here, a.k.a. the Internet's busiest music nerd. I host a music-themed webshow whose roots go back to the early days of YouTube. For years, I built my brand off consistent, detailed, video-based music reviews of the latest records out there.

It's now grown into an influential music journalism platform where I'm regularly delivering everything from thinkpieces to weekly track roundups. I'm looking forward to delivering everything I have to offer to the Steemit platorm, and looking hoping to seeing music the discussion grow on this platform grow.

Here's a recent example of my work posted on the site:

Finally, a big shoutout to @davidpakman for introducing me to the platform, and showing me the ropes.

Welcome to Steemit Anthony! I've been a big fan of your reviews for a long time and it's great to see an influential music journalist such as yourself joining us here on the blockchain.

You'll find that there's quite a strong musical community here already, headed up by @luzcypher 's weekly #openmic contest, the @msp-waves radio station and @meno 's #openmicsongwriters Songwriter's challenge, and I'm sure all the musical Steemians are thrilled to have you joining this community.

Oh and how could I forget @dsound! Which is basically SoundCloud but based on the Steemit blockchain.

Please tell me there is a mobile app for DSound?

I don’t think so but @prc makes it and would know

Yo, do you know if there's any way we can verify if this is actually the real melon? Might be someone trying to make a quick buck...

@ausxen I just have trouble believing it because Anthony hasn't mentioned it at all in his recent videos or made any announcements on twitter. Also, he really didn't seem to know much about crypto in the video he posted today on the fantano channel entitled "Will Bitcoin Impact How We Buy Music?"

I also thought about this and I sent him an email pointing out the steemit profile. So I'm now waiting for a reply or some proof. I'll be back if I get any answer.

ohh yeah ! didnt know of it before but really am looking forward to check out dsound.. gotta start recording soon :)

You absolutely should! Also @musicoin.

Welcome to steem. I found out about you from the NoJumper podcast. Hopefully you can help us expand the Steem Community.

Hey auxsen, i am also a music lover and i wanna be a part of the music community even though i am just a newbie

@kingblack if you haven't already, definitely check out @luzcypher for the open mic. It's the best way to get an idea of who's on here playing/supporting music. Some of my personal favourites include @meno, @passion-ground, @verbal-d and @krystle who judge the contests, @lk666 who plays a mean guitar and recently started #hornsupsaloon (although tbh I don't fully understand what it's about as of yet), @onetruebrother an impressive songwriter, @kayclaritywho is an AMAZING singer, and @buckydurddle who does software tutorials.

I'm sure I missed a bunch in that list but if you hit up their posts and go through the comments sections I'm sure you'll have connections with most of the relevant Steemit musicians in no time :)

Also #music, #openmic, #originalmusic are the tags you wanna keep an eye on

A haiku for you:

Steemit is so much
more awesomer than YouTube
Soon, all will be Steem

I am new, too, lolz... But I am already in love with this platform. A hearty welcome to you, sir, I am glad to see you here!

Very cool to have an experienced content creator introduced. Hope we all can learn from that as well!

Give it a year and you'll probably leave Youtube completely for Steemit. Centralized monetization is theft. Decentralized social media platforms are the future!

Acabo de inscribirme pero ya me engancho esta plataforma, seguiré descubriendo sus bondades, Spherechain espero en poco tiempo dar una opinión sobre tu teoría de dejar a Youtube

my experience with centralized social media platforms have been annoying to say the least. when I found out about decentralized social media platforms like the steem blockchain I began to study the implications of what it takes to be a YouTuber and used to the history of successful content providers to formulate a plan of action that I could fuse into my style and begin that Journey here on steemit and dtube. All I can say is that if you take the time to create thumbnails and high-quality content, consistency and discipline will Propel you towards the dream we all have of creating for a living

GREAT POST!Help me Follow x Follow From venezuela

Ah @DavidPakman... so you're behind this! Lol. Thanks for helping bring more musicians over to Steemit!

I'll hope you'll be bringing your finest Death Grips memes with you

A AWESOME post.

Welcome Anthony.

HI~

Welcome to Steemit Anthony! Good luck here!

Anthony!! The one and only thing I follow on youtube! Howdy, greetings and welcome to the absolute best platform in the world. I'm the drummer of Maserati and I can tell you it was a -deal- when Pyramid of the Sun got covered. Also: thanks for featuring End of Man on your twitter. That was pretty much my baby, recording wise, and it meant the world to see coverage from somebody whose opinions I pretty much consume regardless.

It is a source of great Steem-y hope for me that you found us here and saw the opportunity. Here's to a killer 2018. Welcome aboard.

thanks, man!!! :-)

Welcome to the platform! Man we need more music content here. So happy you arrived.

I am so glad that Anthony came here! I am going to produce music for this community and post blog posts about the creation process soon here on Steemit! Just discovered the DSound! I am going to test that out! So excited to be here!
