Hi, I’m Tanisha, Maker of Yummy Things (with plants)! Now who’s hungry here on Steemit?

Hi, fellow Steemsters! My name is Tanisha Mendieta, and I’ve been a member of the Steemit community for about three weeks now. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to this brilliant platform by my boyfriend, Gabriel Scheare, whom you may know by the handle piedpiper. He’s basically been my guru when it comes to all things cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin. I appreciate any medium of exchange that enables me to bypass the dreaded Federal Reserve Note, and now with the genius invention of Steemit, I’m especially thrilled by the prospect of earning Steem dollars by becoming a valuable content creator to others. As wonderful as that is in itself, there is the added benefit that we have a remarkable community of bright, enthusiastic, creative, and inspiring individuals whom we can mingle with and share our ideas.

It is my hope that over time, I’ll be able to provide value to others here as they’ve done for me. One of the ways in which I intend to do this is by sharing delicious plant-based recipes and pictures of my tasty creations, and provide some valuable cooking tips. I recently enrolled in a professional plant-based cooking course through Rouxbe and been having tons of fun with it! One of my dreams is to open an innovative plant-based restaurant in the future which emphasizes solar cooking, and yes… I’ll be accepting cryptocurrencies. :)

In the meantime, check out these knife skillz! :P

@tmendieta Those are definitely some fancy knife skills! Watch out, y'all! ;-)

Haha! Thanks, girl! ;) I'm on a mission to do some serious dishin'! Woohoo!

Gabriel Scheare you lucky son of a gun. I mean all that yummy food you must be eating. :)

Thou shall not covet thy neighbors food!

It works out beautifully... I chop the veggies. He chops the firewood. ;)

Full Steem Ahead :)

Interesting. Your chopping skillz are impressive. My specialty is making up strange new foods. Mix milk with grape juice, then you've got an entirely new drink: purple Grape Milk. Add an accent mark over the letter 'e' in Grape, then you've got gourmet French-inspired cuisine. Voila!

Thank you, stellabelle! My Kyocera ceramic chef knife makes it so much easier to do clean cuts like that.

Grapé! Haha, that's a keeper ^_^ You should make a blog for your strange food creations. You'd probably get a nice little following from that.

Wow...those are impressive knife skillz!

Thanks, jko! It takes a bit of practice. :)

Surely you had a robot do those carrots! Greetings :)

Ha! Not yet! ;) Greetings to you.

Let us know when you get that restaurant opened!

Will do! ^_^ Thanks!

Solar cooking and plant-based cooking? Sounds really interesting.

Yup! It doesn't get more sustainable than that. :) Solar cooking produces very tasty food, too (some of the best I've tried), especially cakes. I baked my own birthday cakes in a solar oven a couple of years ago.

That is so cool.. You are very inspiring.. I always save people's old TV satellite dishes because they can be made to reflect the sun and heat up a pot of water, coffee or soup.

Thank you, noganoo! That's a clever idea, using satellite dishes that way. I haven't attempted it myself but I probably should since we have a couple of spares lying around in our backyard.

Ever Sous-vide steaks? You can do it in a beer cooler and they are excellent!

Update : I'm going to guess no. I just saw you are vegan. ;)

A solar oven? And you used it to bake a cake? Wow.. how did you do it?

The model I had is called the SOS Sport Solar Oven. It reaches excellent cooking temperatures within a very short period of time and maintains them quite well due to the insulating structure of the oven casing design and its air pocket insulated transparent lid. It also comes with reflectors (not shown in the photo above) which help to concentrate more sunlight. I'm getting a new model sometime in August or September by this company: www.gosunstove.com

I'll just point that there is a girlsgonesteem tag. Otherwise i wish you good luck around here, great choice to stick to cryptos. Im sure there is many steemit vegans that will love your recipes.

lol thanks for the tip but I think I'll pass. :) I am looking forward to interacting with other steemit vegans here, though.

Vegan steemian. That's me! And a couple others I think. Jeez that's awesome. Oh and those pesky federal reserve note, these are the roots of all the problems on this earth and so few of us know about it. Welcome on steem! Bienvenue sur steem!

Yay!! It's great to make your cyber acquaintance! :-D It's not every day that I meet other vegans who know what's up with the Fed. Statism & speciesism are two things that I despise with equal intensity. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing your posts!

I just had to upvote. I think it might be the first comment I upvote and it will a 100% lead to no reward but I had to upvote it. Look fowrad to seeing your posts too!

Mmmm! Nice dice! :)

Muchas gracias! :)
