Hey Steemers! Anarchist housewife here, making my introduction...

My name is Jessi and I call myself an anarchist (or libertarian, or Rothbardian, depending on who I'm talking to), but a more apt description of my beliefs would be something like anarcho-Christian-monarchism. I'll be explaining what I mean by that in future posts.

There are many variations of anarchism, but the most general definition I can give (for the time being, as this is just an introductory post) is this: An anarchist believes in the Non-Aggression Principle, which states that it is wrong for any person or group of people to initiate force on anyone else. This does not preclude the use of defensive force, only initiatory force. It is rooted in the principles of self-ownership and private property rights. Most people have no problem with this (it's common sense, after all), but the anarchist holds this principle consistently, making no exception for persons acting as agents of the State. The necessary consequence of this principle is the conclusion that the State, being that institution in society which claims a monopoly on the use of force within a territorial area, is illegitimate by its very nature. There's much more to be said about this, and I plan to expand on this theme in future posts. For now though, I thought I'd wave hello to you all and drop a few tidbits of info about myself.

I currently reside in the Peoples' Republic of Southern California with my husband (also an anarchist.... I'm so lucky), my dog, five chickens, and my 96 year old grandfather-in-law for whom I provide daily care. As a stay-at-home wife/caregiver, I have lots of time to study topics that interest me, in between the mundane tasks of cooking, cleaning, and general busying-about. I've been considering starting a blog for some time now, as I often find myself writing long commentaries that I can't do anything with (there's only so many rants you can post on Facebook before your friends and family are ready to disown you). So when I found out about Steemit I figured there was no reason not to join up.

Besides reading about and pondering libertarian theory, my hobbies include gardening, anime, learning about homesteading and survivalism, conspiracy theories (both the plausible and the silly), and of course Austrian economics. My posts will probably revolve mainly around these subjects.

I'm not a particularly techie person, so my grasp of how all this is supposed to work is tenuous, but I'm going to try to learn as I go. Even if I never get the hang of the whole cryptocurrency aspect of this, I'll at least have a place where I can create content and hopefully get feedback from others.

Thanks for reading my introduction! I'll soon have some content of actual substance up, and I look forward to interacting with this community. Peace!
