Hi Fellow Steemians! Very excited to be publishing my first post and Introducing Myself to You!

My name is Sarah Sterling, and I am happy to be joining this community of creatives, revolutionaries and wizards! I live in Portland, Oregon with my beloved husband, Talor, our seven chickens and two cats. I am a mindfulness-based therapist, ecstatic dancer, Burning Man goer, gardener, wife, daughter, friend, cross-fitter, yogi, goofball, hiker, writer, and a deliciously wild and sweetly simple woman. Everyday my life feels like a wonderland; magic and beauty abound through all of the ups and downs. I feel incredibly blessed to be able to share my wonder, curiosity and passion with the Steemit community and to learn from and grow with all of you!

I’ve joined Steemit because my husband and I have fallen in love with the revolution that is block-chain technology. We both studied the Sociology of social change in our undergraduate days, and have been working ever since - in our own small and humble ways – to usher in a new way of being that values the sharing of power, wealth and beauty amongst all people in a way that celebrates and honors our beautiful Earth. I’ve been active in the Portland permaculture movement, the West Coast consciousness and transformational festival communities, and Northwest healing arts community for over eight years. My husband and I are also trying our hardest to personally live according to the vision of peace, love and abundance that we have for the world. Our relationship (we’ve been together since we were teenagers!) and now the family we are getting ready to create are the vessel through which we are creating a meaningful life. Oh gosh…..I could gush on about our marriage as a sacred act of revolution forever….

Anyway, enter block-chain technology and cryptocurrency! Everything about this movement is a big YES for me. Steemit is a community organized around this revolutionary technology, and I want to be talking to and learning from anyone who feels connected to this transformational movement. Steemit is a big YES for me because 1) I believe we should be the ones getting paid for sharing ourselves with the world, not marketing firms, big business and election campaigns 2) Steemit models itself just like nature, as a self-sustaining ecosystem that evolves because of effective feedback loops 3)S teemit is seeking to build community by way of empowering and valuing the uniqueness of the individuals within it.

Also, I am grateful to have a platform to start sharing some of my writing. I have a lot to offer the world, and though I love and thrive in my work as a therapist, it is a new, exciting and terribly nerve-wracking thing to support transformation and healing by writing and sharing myself with a larger world community. From what I can tell, the Steemit community is kind, honest and truly supportive of its members. I hope that I can just start writing, at first probably about a whole bunch of different things, and then eventually I want to catch some sort of rhythm and flow. I want to receive feedback from all of you about what I put out here, and I want to have conversations about things so that I can keep growing, learning and refining my ideas. I want to use this as a platform to experiment, converse, get challenged and birth new and powerful realities.

Specifically, the things I am most interested in, and the things that I will probably wind up writing about, are: 1) Sacred Sexuality 2) The personal healing journey 3) Learning from the wisdom of nature 4) Myths and archetypes 5) Living life in beauty and radiance 6) Entheogens and plant medicine 7) Keeping Portland Weird 8) Transformational festivals and communities.

That’s kind of a long list, but it’s so juicy! I hope to start meeting and getting to know you all soon….and not just those of us who are of a like mind…but all of the diverse human beings here who are dreaming up a better world!
