Hello everyone, I'm Jèan! A Haitian/American musician and fairly new cryptovlogger! :)
Saluatations! I'm really excited to be apart of the steem community! I promise I was checking my email everyday for the approval conf! (Longest 3 days ever, ha!)
A little about myself, I was born outside of the USA in Haiti, on the beautiful island of Hispaniola! (Island is shared with the Dominican Republic, who don't always treat us the nicest, i.e http://www.economist.com/news/americas/21698805-one-about-hold-elections-other-has-not-had-proper-government-months) We emigrated to the US when I was fairly young so I'm pretty westernized haha, although I have been back plenty of times and fluent in Haitian Creole & French.
Growing up I was always into music, ALWAYS! I remember as young as 3 & 4 staying up late listening to my uncles records. I can even recall times they would dress me up all cool and stuff with gazelles and gold chains and I would stand on the corner near our house and rap to anyone who would pass by (I think it's how they would pick up girls though hahaha). But, needless to say music has always been a major part of my life, so major that I started my own record label and signed my brother as my first artist! I also signed some close friends I grew up with and it's honestly can be real challenging at times trying to break into what can feel like such a shady industry at times, but it can be rewarding doing what you love with the people you love.
Aside from the music, I also run a social media management company for artists. I meet so many artist all the time who are so extremely talented and they have either an EP or mixtape or two out but don't usually know where to go from there or have little to no marketing experience. I can tell you in this current era of music and social media it LITERALLY pays to have a good marketing team behind so I started helping some underrated acts with their social networking and it started opening a lot more doors for them and me as I got to see a different side of the industry. (The people behind the artists, who actually do a lot of the hard work to keep them relevant).
I recently have gotten into the cryptocurrency craze! I can admit I'm still fairly new to the concept of digital currency but nonetheless I'm very intrigued. I do own some Ripple, Monero, Bitcoin, Ethereum and some Dash (may have sold the Dash, not too sure). I try to do as much of my own reasearch as I can and try to stay up to date but I find usually learn more from talking to people online and sharing information.
Also, started a 'crypto vlog' as I like to call it, mainly because more and more people became genuinely curious about my fascination and wanted to learn more. Now I must admit I was a bit reluctant at first, primarily because I wasn't not well versed on how bitcoin worked or where to even begin to explain to others how it worked or what cryptocurrency even was! But after countless hours of watching videos, chatting with others on forums, buying, trading (and losing) coins, I felt confident enough to share with them some of the knowledge I had garnered. So I created handle (bitcoinbully) started a YouTube and made my fest video about three days ago! (Which I'll gladly share with you guys, would love to hear what some of you think)
Now I'm excited because I truly do want to help others learn more and learn more myself in the process and be able to network and connect with others who have gone 'crypto-crazy'. I hope to build a strong community of followers and would love to Shae info and stories and even if you just want to chat I'm always happy to meet new folks!
If you read this far you are pretty awesome and I thank you for allowing me the opportunity to introduce myself!
