Nice point about "voting with dollars," and I think you've said it straight right here. However, my personal feeling is that the "greatest minds on the planet" are not necessarily the ones building tech empires in the Silicon Valley. I do believe there's likely a high concentration of intelligent people there; and there are many angles of greatness, along with the many areas where greatness is highly concentrated.
