Estonia Sees Bitcoin As Part of National Security Strategy
There were no reports of Estonia viewing Bitcoin as part of its national security strategy. However, it's worth noting that Estonia has been at the forefront of digital innovation, particularly in the area of e-government and has been actively exploring the use of blockchain technology in various sectors.
In 2017, the Estonian government launched its own cryptocurrency, called estcoin, which was intended to serve as a means of payment for e-residents of the country. However, the European Central Bank raised concerns about the plan, and the idea was eventually put on hold.
In addition to this, the Estonian government has implemented a blockchain-based system for managing health records and has explored the use of blockchain in other areas, such as voting and supply chain management.
While Estonia may not have explicitly stated that Bitcoin is part of its national security strategy, it has certainly been exploring the potential of blockchain and digital currencies in various sectors.
