Bitcoin is the only king at the moment... If it crashes no other crypto can survive, irrespective of how high technological potential it upholds....Bitcoin is the gateway to crypto world, we cannot enter or exit without it... No other coin in the near future can overtake it...If it goes down, whole market goes down. The only advice to all the crypto enthusiasts is to "HODL" Bitcoin and play with the rest of alt coins...If we HODL BTC, we will never face any major crash again.
Coinbase currently allows people to buy Ethereum and Litecoin with fiat. I say Coinbase first because it is by far the largest gateway into crypto at the moment. On top of that we are seeing many other exchanges allowing the purchase of numerous coins with fiat. While I agree that if Bitcoin were to crash it would severely affect the market, in all likelihood I think we would not see an immediate crash but a migration to various cryptos the operate at a better scale. Likely Ethereum, IOTA, or something similar would become the flagship, but again anything is possible.
I totally agree and I add that soon, there will be more gateways to enter in the criptoworld and the Bitcoin-dependence will be less and less. I still think Bitcoin will be the biggest (and almost the only) store of value
Well I think that Steem is the best coin in the market and that Bitcoin is outdated. There are exchanges where you can buy alt for fiat and it is not that hard to setup an Steemlocal for instance... so even if Bitcoin fails, which I dont think it will completely, we could still use Steem and other coins... I think that Bitcoin will still be an object of speculation, but for me personally I dont hold it, I only hold Steem, eos and bitshares, since thy have real utility (well right now Steem and Bitshares has real utility, whereas EOS is expected to have it in the future).
Without any doubt Steem is far superior... i like it very much, but it will become best when we are instantly able to convert fiat to Steem and vice versa directly without involving any other crypto in between...

Bitcoin does set the tone for the whole market! Also, bitcoin and other cryptos are heavily manipulated by a few colluding hands. They thrive in massive volatility! Don't wish the crashes go away. That means the opportunity goes away. If you don't like volatility then buy a treasury bond. I guarantee the only opportunity there is to lose money! Enjoy the ride and take advantage of buying after huge sell offs! I want to keep prices here as long as possible so I can continue stacking. It's just a matter of time before this opportunity disappears! Enjoy! 🙌🙌💰
That is the nature of the cryptocurrency market. So it can be useless to have a short term view in cryptocurrency.
I think king of crypto has not created yet but bitcoin is expected because it is hoped BTC Will go up again so lets see
I think Bitcoin will continue its leadership, this decline will be short and in the near future crypto money will rise again.
The highest rise seems to be showing Lithecoin, I think it will be $ 1000 with 400% growth. Maybe after that Ripple could pass Bitcoini years later.
I believe SBD will go to 10-15 dollars after a few months.
But SBD should keep the 1 to 1 with dollar in order to keep Steemit economy health. What makes you believe SBD will keep rising again?
This possibility changed. When this system was first set up, it said: It kept it at 1 dollar level, but in recent days this platform has been multiplying new systems and growing rapidly, investors are increasing.
Problems could arise as USD begins an inflationary death spiral.
EOS, Monero and IOTA for sure. If Bitcoin's problems can be overcome it will fly otherwise it will just act as a gateway into the crytpoworld, a store of value and for speculators. Ripple has the establishment's backing so although it represents everything we anarchists and libertarians scorn, it could go very far. If nothing else, 2018 will unfold some more surprises...

Ethereum is second in succession and i believe it is going to soar more. I just dont know when it goes to Proof of stake rather than proof of work. What do you guys think? @dollarvigilante
I'd vote, but I'm 50%+ heavy on EOS, and I firmly believe EOS will be, if not king of the Cryptospace, in the top 3-5 until something better is invented.
