Someone Uploaded God to IPFS!

in #ipfs7 years ago (edited)

I got a kick out of this while I was reading the Upanishads earlier. Someone uploaded the page for, "Parameshwara" (Para-Ishvara) to IPFS as part of the effort to create a decentralized backup of Wikipedia. Our temple recently uploaded Bhagavad Gita: As It Is to the IPFS as part of our book distribution effort. You can find it at hash:

Here's to spirituality in the age of machines! Here's to techno-mysticism! Here's to a world of empowerment and brotherhood vs. that old world that we'll give ourselves the benefit of not discussing for now! < 3!

QmXoypizjW3WknFiJnKLwHCnL72vedxjQkDDP1mXWo6uco is the hash for the page. Trying to link to the thing is not working but the original Wikipedia page can be found at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parameshwara_(God)

Thanks for your post. Hadnt heard of IPFS until now. Seems interesting.

It's the bollocks man! Check out DTube. It's a part of Steem that uses IPFS to facilitate a decentralized Youtube alternative! What's rippin about it is that it's impossible to censor something once it's been uploaded onto the network. I think this is great news for people in places where certain ideas have been made illegal.

Just activated my DTube account. I haven't read up on ipfs yet, but your summary makes it sound most excellent ^_^
