The Rajasthan Royal used the Assam Cricket Stadium as the their home for 2 games in IPL 2023.

The initial game against Punjab Kings saw the Royals slip to defeat in a match that went to the wire. Youngster Dhruv Jurel who was making his debut and became the franchise's first impact sub, scored a brilliant 32 from 15 balls to get his team into a position where they needed 16 off the last final over. England's Sam Curran held his nerve though conceeding just 10 runs as the Kings ran out winners.

4 days later and at the same venue, the Rajasthan Royals put in a convincing performance to beat the Delhi Capitals by 57 runs. Their total of 199 batting in the first innings was a record score in the IPL at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium.

Hosting IPL matches in Guwahati has not been without its challenges, including weather conditions and logistical issues.
