Collateral damage
Tensions had escalated
Diplomacy had failed
Muscles had been flexed
Missiles had been tested
"This tyranny must make way
For the freedom and prosperity ahead"
And something about
liberty and democracy was said
We choose to meet that threat now
Where it arises
before it can appear suddenly
in our skies and on our cities
There shall be no more wars of aggression
No more execution of dissidents, it is clear
No more torture Chambers and rape rooms
The day of your liberation is here
Once it was clear
That democracy had to be defended
Jets flew by and
Hell from the skies descended
The streets are gloomy and silent now
The cries of men women and children have long faded
The war just ended and everything has changed
Since the day this land was invaded
But at least the world empathized
When Noam Chomsky covered their plight
Justice is still nowhere in sight
For those on whose behalf I fight
A bird flew from a tree one morning
Leaving her young ones in the nest
The little birdlings were left chirping
And mother hasn't returned home yet
