prophets and apostles is humans choice duty to give the instructions to the man of oneness of Allah and build them to carry out his teaching. characteristics they stated in the qur'an, "... is that people who deliver the minutes of-the minutes of God. they are afraid to him and they are not afraid to a (any) in addition to God. and suffice God as maker calculation." (q.s. Inter alia ahzab: 39). the difference between the prophets and apostles are: a Prophet receive the revelation of Allah to himself, while the Apostle receive the revelation of Allah to submitted to all of his people. prophets and apostles have 4 obligatory nature and 4 properties impossible, and the nature of allowed but not required, namely: Siddiq (right), impossible he kizib (false). mandate (trustworthy), impossible treacherous (cheating). tabliqh (convey revelation to his people), impossible kitman (hide the revelation). fathonah (smart / smart), impossible jahlun (stupid). are allowed but not required that aradhul basyariyah (properties as human). in the world has a lot of prophets and apostles has been down, but must known by Muslims are a total of 25 prophets and apostles,

Nabi dan Rasul adalah manusia-manusia pilihan yang bertugas memberi petunjuk kepada manusia tentang keesaan Allah SWT dan membina mereka agar melaksanakan ajaran-Nya. Ciri-ciri mereka dikemukakan dalam Al-Qur’an,
"... ialah orang-orang yang menyampaikan risalah-risalah Allah. Mereka takut kepada-Nya dan mereka tiada takut kepada seorang (pun) selain kepada Allah. Dan cukuplah Allah sebagai pembuat perhitungan." (Q.S. Al Ahzab : 39).
Perbedaan antara Nabi dan Rasul adalah : seorang Nabi menerima wahyu dari Allah SWT untuk dirinya sendiri, sedangkan Rasul menerima wahyu dari Allah SWT guna disampaikan kepada segenap umatnya. Para Nabi dan Rasul mempunyai 4 sifat wajib dan 4 sifat mustahil, serta satu sifat jaiz, yaitu :
Shiddiq (benar), Mustahil ia Kizib (dusta).
Amanah (dapat dipercaya), mustahil Khianat (curang).
Tabliqh (Menyampaikan wahyu kepada umatnya), Mustahil Kitman (menyembunyikan Wahyu).
Fathonah (Pandai/cerdas), Mustahil Jahlun (Bodoh).
Bersifat jaiz yaitu Aradhul Basyariyah (sifat-sifat sebagaimana manusia).
Di dunia ini telah banyak Nabi dan Rasul telah diturunkan, tetapi yang wajib diketahui oleh umat Islam adalah sebanyak 25 Nabi dan Rasul, yaitu :
