Negli anni 2000 Salvini in visita al Presidente della repubblica si rifiutò di dargli la mano affermando «No grazie, dottore, lei non mi rappresenta» è già da questa affermazioni si iniziò a mettere in mostra ;
Negli anni successivi inizia a fare carriera fino al 2004 dove viene eletto nel parlamento europeo ovviamente con la lista Lega-Nord e ricopre questa carica per 2 anni fino al 2006 e quindi appena finiti questi 2 anni viene rieletto dal popolo sempre nel 2006 consigliere comunale di milano e vicesegretario della Lega-Nord .

Nelle elezioni del 2008 viene eletto come parlamentare nella camera dei deputati e successivamente nel 2009 dove inizia a diventare popolare con oltre 70 000 voti viene riletto nel Parlamento Europeo e quindi si dimise da parlamentare italiano per accettare incarico ;
Il 2 giugno 2012 Matteo Salvini diventa il nuovo segretario della Lega-Nord e negli anni successivi inizia a prendere parte a numerosi Talk Televisivi e manifestazione di operai che rischiavano il licenziamento per affermare che secondo lui Europa non ci stava aiutando ma ci stava massacrando e portando al baratro è cosi Salvini inizia ad attuare una politica detta Populista cioè di consenso popolare e questo anno dopo anno lo porta a prendere sempre più voti fino ad arrivare ad oggi nel 2018 dove Salvini con la coalizione di centro destra domina le elezioni diventando il primo partito della coalizione e successivamente per permettere la creazione di un governo si allea con i 5 stelle (unica opzione disponibile).
Salvini a livello economico vuole attuare aliquota unica o tassa piatta detta anche Flax Tax cioè detto in parole povere un aliquota fissa .
Nel campo sociale Salvini afferma di essere contrario al Matrimonio tra coppie gay e all'adozione di figli da parte di queste ma nel campo della prostituzione afferma la necessità di legalizzarla e per la gente che emigra clandestinamente nel nostro paese non spetta più asilo e assistenza ma vengono espulsi nei loro paesi di appartenenza fatte esclusione per donne e bambini .
Salvini nel tema dei vaccini non afferma di essere contrario ma ha affermato che in qualche caso i vaccini sono un enorme rischio per i bambini e questo va fortemente in contrasto con numerosi medici e studi scientifici .
Salvini nel campo Politica estera ha affermato di non vedere la russia come un nemico ed ha firmato un accordo relativo a esercitazioni militari anche in collaborazione con la NATO nei paesi baltici per tutelarci dal vero nemico che si nasconde nell'estremo islamismo .

Nella carriera di Salvini troviamo anche un condanna a 30 giorni di reclusione con la condizionale per il motivo di aver tirato delle uova ad un Pubblico Ufficiale .
