My trip in SICILY! Part 1: the labyrinthine Ortigia
Hi guys! I wanted to share with you some pictures that I took two years ago in the beautiful, astonishing Sicily!
I'll start from Ortigia, a small island which is the historical centre of Syracuse. The echoes of the past resound in the labyrinth of narrow streets and ancient monuments..Everywhere you go, you can breath the scent of the sea mixed with the smell of the local food. A paradise!
Sicily from the plane!
The main square
Inside the church..An ancient temple! You can see the columns incorporated in the walls of the church!
The ruins of the Apollo's temple
Papyrus plants in the Fountain of Arethusa in Syracuse..This is the only place in Europe where papyrus is found growing!!
A Sicilian STARTER...:D..A lot of food!
MANY MORE TO COME! If you love Sicily, stay tuned!
