The Strange Case Of Jake Patterson~Jayme Closs Kidnapper/Murderer
I don't like to run with a major news story but I have to talk about this case as the house Jayme Closs was held during her ordeal has some odd happenings. Let me explain.
Looking at Wisconsin property records I was able to find the address she had been held at;
14166 Eau Claire Acres, Gordon, Wi
The property is owned by a Patrick M Patterson. His mother is Deborah, they divorced in 2008.
Patrick paid the property taxes either in full in January of the year they were due, or he paid half in January and the second payment in either March or June the same year.
Tax records show Patrick Patterson made one payment for property taxes in 2018, it was a full payment for the entire year of 2017, made on 1/17/2018. No payment has been made yet this January for the 2018 tax payment.
The Patterson's bought the property sometime in 2006 as they paid taxes January 2007 & July 2007. Since 2006 living full time in this house, it's not a cabin, it's a real house, yet nobody in this rather small area knew any of these people, the Pattersons.
Jake is 21. Anyone with children knows this is not the brightest age, especially for maintaining a house. Yet allegedly, the father has left, no one knows where, and his son with no job is staying in the home alone. His older brother was living there until he was arrested on sex charges with a minor. His brother moved to Colorado and has been out of state for several years. So does this make sense? No job, no money, dad has not been seen for a long time, has not been located by the press either.
During Jayme's kidnapping, she told detectives Jake had visitors to the house and she was locked up & hidden away during these visits or when he left. I wonder who was visiting? Jake seemed to be a loner, so it couldn't be friends. Was it the father? If it was where is this mystery man living? An address comes up in white pages in Minoug, Wi for a Patrick Patterson, but that is not reliable information, but it is a start.
Folks, these are very small towns, with no jobs, houses far apart, but they are small towns. Most people in small towns know everyone's business. There is nothing else to do but find out what your neighbors are doing. It's really that boring!

I need to mention that almost all tax payments were made in CASH. These are payments of $800+. That's a lot of money for people in this area to have on them, not unheard of, but unusual. So how was Jake buying food, paying the electric (if there was electric), how was it heated etc.
Some things I've pondered:
#1 the father was/is paying for stuff
#2 Jake was robbing places for cash & supplies (home robbery)
#3 The father was killed by Jake in early 2018
#4 The father works for cash or Jake works for cash
#5 Are there similar murders with the same MO that Jayme Closs parents were killed in the area?
A news report stated a neighbor once caught the two brother stealing gas from them, yet no report to LE was made. Neighbors also state the parents moved away. If they didn't know them, how do they know? Where are Jake Patterson's parents?
Let's look at the case briefly. October 15th is when Jayme is kidnapped. The door is shot in by a shotgun, James Closs is shot in the entryway, Denise Closs is shot elsewhere in the home. Jayme is taken to Gordon Wi.
Eight days after Jayme is kidnapped the home she's being held at is PAID OFF IN FULL allegedly by Patrick Patterson.
I can't help think that the father did not make the payment, but Jake did.
This is not a crime you commit the first time you murder someone! Shooting someone with a shotgun, in as short of time he did, he has done this before! And to not leave forensic evidence at the scene either, he's done this before. To target a house on a somewhat busy road, taking the chance of being seen going in or out, he knew what he was doing. I think they may link him to more crimes. Time will tell all. In the mean time....Where is Patrick Patterson?
I haven't followed this case that closely but you have raised some good questions.
I've followed it very closely as it's an odd case and Wisconsin is my neighboring state. I'm so happy this young woman was found safe. She's a survivor!
Pictures inside the Patterson house, Gordon, Wisconsin. A lot of pictures!

Looks similar to 4489 Pine Rd. Lewiston MI.
I was thinking the same thing!!
I hate anything fro NY but they are reporting that the house was
turned over to a credit union 8 days after the murder of the parents...

(And how did they get pictures???)
That has not been 100% confirmed as of yet and this link will tell another story about the credit union transaction. The home was purchased in 2006, 17 years is a long time to pay off the house. It was actually paid off based on the link I'll provide, which makes sense. I'm still wondering where Patrick has been staying as a report this morning has a neighbor saying he was there on weekends but didn't say the last time he was seen. I'm looking forward to watching the first court appearance at 3:30CDT today.
I wonder if the women's diapers were for Jayme as she was locked up if he left? Such a terrible story, I'm so happy she was found alive!
