Whats more important here if you got patreon money instead of a billion steem for us , is to support the guys from the sites where the goodies are so they can not just keep going (chances are they will because they do it anyway) but they can do it better and they dont have to rely on sponsors who have requests and ultimately influence the content and the way opinions are voiced.

Steam Deck is like LTS as they say (long term support) its completely open, unlike many consoles, you dont HAVE TO jailbreak it, you can just reinstall it - put archlinux on it, it'll work if you can hack archlinux, run ubuntu on it, it very likely will work, run windows on it its probably gonna work at teh cost of 10000 telemetry and chatGPT included with no option to uninstall... Open it up, remove parts, stick new ones in it. Open your shop with homemade replacement parts ? Valves not gonna sue.
Its like "unheard of" thats why (in our opinions too) its ichiban ichiban ichiban to the power of seven. ON TOP OF THAT its a fully working pc, the size of less than a laptop or more like a big phone that runs on 45 WATTS of power and if you wanna do office stuff on it, you install office on it (libre or other) and just do it, use a dock attach a keyboard and a 60 inch 4k screen, all that works ... (the dock aint that expensive IF you can afford a deck or IF you prefer a deck over a car ...)
So at the risk of sounding sponsored, we aint, and that is why its conviction, the thing is awesome and the business model in 2023 ... refreshing to say the very least, it opens up ways to enable people to revolve satellite business around it, contrary to the crotter way of "buy everything" and block everyone from doing anything thats related to any of our products. It encourages creative use of resources and the only thing that gaffles us is why the demoscene hasnt picked it up as "a set machine" with set hardware - what more do you want ? a machine with limits is a scenoids dream, right ?

dead or alive V is a great one, tho it isnt perfect in story mode, the deck is made for games like that so we all be rooting for tekken 8 ... and hoping valve finds some way of co-op with Blamco or whoever produces the dough for it to have it work as good as elden ring, after all. Games like that are 100% made for steam deck-type machines ...
(sadly not sponsored? we wont mind if Gabe sends us a "all you can eat" steam buffet until 2050 and options to buy all new versions and upgrades at 1% of the price ofcourse but upgrading it with stronger cpus and whatnot somewhat negates the whole purpose here, tho we expect there to be a cycle like to any console .. if you look back at success handhelds like gameboy, it doesnt have to be every 3 or 4 years ... inflation will have a say in it anyway - if you need a full, portable pc that can do anythgin a pc can, uses 45 watts of power (thats the max the adapter gives) works without a cable for a few hours AND if you want to can run about 8000 games or you can write pong or minesweeper for it yourself during lunch break ?)

AH, finally got to scanning the scale plate quest ... ever since we picked side and got a promotion from the chair, things in space start shooting at the bosses (secondhand) space ferrari ... thats what you get for losing independence ... maybe we can still break free after buying a few ships.
Well scanned the thing and escaped the enemy ships after a few tries (probably would have gone better if we werent typing this at the same time)
And finally bought a 3rd one to expand the fleet of Jane in Space
hired the first affordable marine we bump into, give him a piloting seminar and promote him to captain, follow the next marine and promote her to engineer (service crew) .. and set them off to trade
300000 credits down, at 3k a run that takes only 100 missions to get back even. But seeing as captain Jovis last run was closing in on 30k profit for one run xp seems to matter. So we have great hopes for our new recruits. If they dont get blown out by somalian pirates in space ... they should eventually turn on the investment and from there it goes (ofcourse we provide free healthcare to all personnel and you dont have to bring your own bento)
The latest mission in human trafficking (headhunting actually) would fix most of the budget since they're looking for a manager and willing to pay the courier 400k -- - the problem is finding a 2star manager first , marines a plenty sitting on all sides of stations looking for oddjobs ... suits a bit less apparently

3 captains for 3 ships while the commander hangs around at the argon hub ... looking for that 2 star manager to no avail ... the autotrade is slowly filling up the expense gap and atm the game feels like an idler lol , would be nice to have some kind of rented office space while waiting to construct a station from where to direct from.
So what do we do here ... nearing 400k again, need at least a million for a miner - - - havent found how to put captains on missions and, ... cant find anyone who has even one star in management (i didnt know that was a skill ? is it ? ... its not like "YOURE FIRED!" ? )

the game is pretty awesome, somewhat complex but not nearly complex enough, actually from our filosophy it should have levels (its a single player, so you sandbox all you want, like some people for instance (in theory) might like chatGPT to write a shader or article for them and then feel good about what they did ... you know ? "sandbox" ) personnel could be a bit more elaborate than "pilot/service crew/marine" for instance but we're sure the forums are abuzz with that stuff already

this game runs totally on DraugerOs ( https://itsfoss.com/drauger-os/ ) ( https://draugeros.org/ ) at anywhere between 10 and 200 fps at 1440p (and at 4k doesnt make much difference on the low end really during lag hour) but we assume that is another case of the "bad management of cpu and refusal to use hashtables b/c thats not how its done today, you just have to add another terabyte and stop being poor) - we cant say for sure b/c its not open source and if it were we wouldnt be sifting through the code anyway but its kinda obvious when it lags and we seen that in other games, DEFINITELY in prefab engine games using unreal or unity ...
As for the streaming (lol?) WE HATE THE SPOTLIGHT (probably said that once or twice before) but SURE
