雑記: Stranger Things を見始めました

少し時間的な余裕が出てきたので、Netflix で海外ドラマを見始めました。しばらく見ないうちにオリジナルシリーズがたくさん増えていますね。見たいシリーズはたくさんあるのですが、ハマりすぎると睡眠時間を食うばかりなので、二つほどに絞りました。どちらも去年公開のシリーズなので今更感はありますが・・・

These days, I have some free time and I’ve begun to watch netflix. I haven’t checked it recently but it have lots of original series. I’m interested in many of them, but I shouldn’t go down a rabbit hole and choose just two series to watch. They are released in last year so I’m a latecomer, though.

一つ目は、そろそろシーズン2が始まるStranger Things。80年代のアメリカ文化には詳しく無いので、細かいオマージュは楽しめないのですが、それでも面白くて、ついつい見てしまいます。セリフには難しい単語はほとんど出てこないので、英語リスニングの練習に使ってもめげないで続けられると思います。

Stranger Things is one of the two series I’m watching. Its second season is comming so I think it’s a good time to catch up the first season. Since I’m not familiar with US culture, especially 80’s, I cannot understand some parody, but even so I’m obsessed with its dark atmosphere. In this series, people don’t use difficult words and I think it’s good for listening practice, too.

もう一つ目は、Medici: Masters of Florence。ルネサンス期イタリア史の中心メディチ家のコジモ・デ・メディチを主役としたドラマ。どこまで史実に基づいているのか分かりませんが、目まぐるしく状況が変わり続きが気になってしまいます。こちらは難しい単語が多くまたイタリア人の名前は聞き取りにくいので、リスニングの練習には向かないような気がします。

The other seriese I’m watching is Medici: Masteres of Florence. I love history and that’s why I choose this series. I’m not sure how historically correct this story is, but I enjoy watching with some materials about Italian history. However, conversations in this series have difficult words including Italian and I think it’s not good for listening practice.
