Statement of not producing block on 6/21

Dear friends,

Hello!

At 20th Jun, 2018, JST 2:00A.M.(UTC+9), JEDA became a main schedule block producer. We did not produce any blocks for the first 6 hours.

JEDA was established in Tokyo, Japan. All the core members are based in Tokyo. We were winding down in an standby position and never expected to suddenly receive massive amounts of votes in the middle of the night. So we removed the private key for safety reasons before upgrading to 1.0.5, but did not add the private key back before restarting the producing node. So our node ran but was not signing blocks or producing blocks. Our operation team is working around the clock to build redundancy and failover servers and make sure that we never suffer such an unacceptable outage again.

We understand that everyone has worked hard to prepare for this role during the past several months, and we offer our sincere apologies to all producers and standby producers who missed out on potential block rewards during that lengthy downtime. We hope to work closely together to find ways to mitigate this kind of scenario in the future.
