NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE (SUPER NATURAL WRITING CONTEST)
This traumatic life experience is a little rusty but all thanks to @jerrybanfield for the opportunity to share my life experience.
This is my article in the contest the Supernatural Writing Contest(SWC) by @jerrybanfield.
As I stepped out of the café I felt a little relieved as the cold breeze blew my shirts backwards. What a stressful day I thought to myself. I felt like I had delivered the whole world form chaos as i placed my done project inside my school back.
I planned to take myself out as a way of appreciating my hard work and determination which lead in the completion of my walk. As I reached for my cell, i dialled my friends number which took a while before he picked. Since its in my habit to bad mouth him before saying anything else to him. I requested for his whereabout and he told me he is battling with his work in school cafeteria. I laughed in mockery because I had mine already.
We spoke for a while and decided we will meet when he is done with his work.
Has we ended the conversation, I felt a little pinch on my stomach i knew it only meant one thing. As I pushed forward to the supermarket to get myself a cold drink and cake to calm the ugly face of hunger. As I got there, the security man opened the door and gave me a welcome look which made me smile back. As i walked pass the perfume area I noticed they had my favorite, i got more excited as i picked one. I got myself a cold coke form the refrigerator and a cake and headed to the canter to do payment.
On getting there I noticed my colleague in school who was equally about to pay for the goods she picked. We exchanged pleasantries and talked for a while as we headed to the exit. She called me a genius for finishing my work before everyone else. She waved me goodbye as she boarded a taxi. I boarded another and was about leaving when a man, tall, thin with brown eye balls joined us with a big duffel bag. We exchanged pleasantries, he looked friendly, he asked for my name which I gave him without asking for his.
As we moved a while another guy joined us. He looked harmless and more like a student, i enjoyed the way he pronounced the word evening y'all which made me grin. I thought to myself, tonight is my luckiest night because I have gotten to meet nice people couple up with the fact that I had been able to get my work done on time. I took out my snacks and was about to eat it as i offered it to the first man. Since I didn't know his name, I called him hello stranger which made the three of us burst into laughter. He got the cake from me and took a bite. I was very surprised and amaze as a total stranger could be so full of life and forgetting about all the superstitious beliefs surrounding us. I totally liked him instantly as we moved on.
He now spoke up by telling me his name. He said he is Mr Daniels and that he is from Ghana. So i became anxious and came up with the question that changed the evening forever. Mr. Daniels can you tell me about you and your purpose in my country Nigeria. He turned to me and smiled as I smiled back.
I am a business tycoon, I own warehouses in Accra, Kumasi and other states in Ghana. I am into import and export of foreign goods. I was amaze and so happy that am rounding up my day with great, successful man. My purpose to Nigeria is to establish my business here and that he is looking for a good entrepreneurial to hand over the business to manage. Gosh! am in my finals, I am very smart, have been managing my dads water company at the early age of fifteen. This is a nice opportunity to change my life forever I thought to myself. I didn't want to hesitate as i jumped into conclusion that I can be his manager as I didn't give a second thought to my decision. He smiled and said he was wondering when I would say that. I got confused, he saw it in my face and told me not to as he concluded that he wouldn't wish for anyone but me. I couldn't control the fact that that i was excited, I couldn't wait to tell my friend the good news. When can I start I asked him anxiously but in a joking manner, he smiled and ask if I can go with him to see the warehouse he has gotten already. I wanted saying no but a popular quote came to me that opportunity knocks but once so I didn't want to blame myself later as I gave in to his request without thinking about the consequences of my actions. He does not look harmful, he is nicest person I have ever seen on planet earth or maybe he is Gods sent to change my life forever I kept thinking to myself.
He now told the driver to turn the vehicle around since we were heading to the same direction. I like you said Mr Daniels to the third passenger, what's your name he added. Stephen he said. I would like to change your life as well he added I want you to work with me, I want people I can trust and you look calm and humble or is it just looks he said which made me giggle but in a ginning manner. Stephen told him he was working already but he wouldnt mind giving it a try.
As we moved further, I notice that the route the taxi driver took was not the usual one to the description of the situated warehouse. Where are we, I asked Mr Daniels in a cold mild manner and he said we are almost there and which he assured me that i have nothing to worry about.
Stop the car he said as he turned and looked at where I and Stephen was seated and said made us promise not to defraud him and that we should not disclose this to anyone as anxiety flowed through my veins. He touched my chest, Daniels and the taxi drivers and made one incantation in a language i could not understand. He now said he had initiated us into his acultic world, my heart jumped from my chest. I was confused, terrified and to worsen things he asked us to insert our hands into our private part that we will find a life moving wall gecko. Immediately i felt something moving in my body. As i caught it, brought it out, behold it was a wall gecko with a red cloak on it. he said it was sent from their marine world. Daniel started shedding tears and we started begging him to reverse whatever he had done to us. My eyes became heavy as i begun to freak out, my heart was pounding profusely. He now went further and said that their grand master has requested that one of us must die and that he his trying to prevent that from happening as he begun to murmur some words to himself. My eyes became heavier as blood begun coming out from my ears and mouth. I was terrified, i am going to die i thought to myself. You are the chosen one to die he concluded. i am chosen to die, what have i ever done wrong, what crimes have i commited as this thought went on in my mind i couldn't help but break down in tears. But instead of tears to come out, blood did which made me more terrified. As he started another round of incantation, he stopped, smiled and said there is a way out that their grand master has pardon me, he now mentioned my full name, my age, where I live and how much I had with me and the amount in my bank account and concluded that if i lie he would never help me. He now asked for my wallet, my atm card and wristwatch which I gave him without hesitating. He now asked the driver to drive to where i was living. As we got there I was given a black duffel bag to go put any valuables I had in my possession. He now asked me not to mention a word to anyone if not I'll die instantly. He got out, went straight to my apartment door dipped my hands into my pocket, fetch my keys as i opened my apartment door gently, i stepped into my room, pick my jewelries, picked other valuable things dropped them in the duffel bag and headed straight to where he and the others where waiting for me. We drove on as i handed the bag with my phone to him. He now looked into my eyes, touched my chest and did some incantation and said I was pardon by his grand master. Immediately i vomitted a black bead and he made me promise that i would never disclose what happened that evening to anyone. As we drove on, he asked the driver to stop which he did, he asked me to go down and start walking. I should not look back and reminded me that if I should ever disclose it to anyone that I'll be beaten by a great Python and I'll die instantly. As he started walking, I was overwhelmed with fear, couldn't do anything other than what he asked me to do.
As i kept walking a car came towards me that was when I gained consciousness and built up courage to the greater reality as tears filled my eyes. I felt my heart stop severally, i felt like it was the end for me. As i moved on, I realized that i was familiar withHe said that their grand master has requested that one of us must die and that he his trying to interseed on our behalf as he was murmuring to himself. Blood started coming out from my eyes, ears and mouth. He now said that i was the chosen one and that there is nothing he could do about it. I couldn't help but start shedding tears too. But instead of tears to come out, blood did which made me more terrified. As we drove on, he asked the driver to stop which he did, he asked me to go down and start walking. I should not look back and reminded me that if I should ever disclose it to anyone that I'll be beaten by a great Python and I'll die instantly. As he started walking, I was overwhelmed with fear, couldn't do anything other than walking.
As i kept going, a car drove towards me, that was when I gained consciousness and awaken to the greater reality as tears filled my eyes. I felt my heart stop severally, i felt like it was the end for me. As i moved on, I realized that i was familiar with where i was dropped off, as i gained more courage, I walked into a church near by, They where sharing the grace, as the pastor saw me, he knew all was wrong with me. I walked up to him, He prayed for me and said he had seen a revelation of this day and he said half of what happened to me as i cried out bitterly.
After that traumatic experience i got haunted day and night but as days turned into weeks and weeks into months the fear begun to subside as i recovered quite quickly with the support of family and friends.
