Bible Verse: Serving One another
Dear lovely ones,
I find this verse to be so inspiring and true.
Mark 10:42-45
And Jesus called them to him and said to them, “You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
I used to think that being someone in high authority, one would have more authority to instruct others to follow them. Little did I know, it is a much higher sacrifice.
The person being in authority not only needs to be a good role model but also ready to serve and sacrifice much of his/her time. No longer can one fancy about being lazy or doing nothing.
But instead, the person needs to be working most of the time in order to achieve that higher goal and leading others along with them. It was never about authority or control anymore. It was about sacrifice and servanthood.
When I observe the way Jesus lived His life, I m just amazed. He is everything He described in Mark 10:42-25.
His example made me realised that we are here not to be served but instead to serve each other in humility and love. It such a beautiful picture to look at the way Jesus lived His life.
Jesus is our great example, we should imitate him.
