Resist The devil And it Will?
My Lord:
If you "do" these things. Action, work required at every turn of the page.
It is not might, maybe, could be, it is absolute. Resist temptation, resist the devil and the foolish things it uses to tempt you to conceive sin and it will flee from you. For it is by faithful obedience, by being a doer of. Not entertaining evil, not having pleasure in it. Doing what draws one nearer to the Lord, denying, taking up and following. If I obey, I truly love. If I keep, I truly love. If I maintain, I truly love. If ye love Me, keep My Commandments. For the love of God is the Commandments. Our love is walking after them, if you love Me, follow Me. If you will come after Me, do this and do not the other things.
James 4:7, " Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. "
2 Thessalonians 2:12, " That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. "
Romans 1:32, " Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. "
Revelation 2:10, " Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. "
What sin is so great ye can not endure the temptation of it? What is truly imbued within you, how has God truly made all man? Which sin does God not leave a Way out, for them that appear to have no other way? There is always a Way left to choose besides giving into sin, always a choice to be made. If you take the time to speak slowly, give heed to what is being offered, what is being said, what is that your being led to do and to say. Be slow to give answer, be slow to react, what is the hurry?
1 Corinthians 10:13, " There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. "
James 1:19, " Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: "
Sin is a sad pathetic thing that is common as the dirt, it has nothing special that it can tempt you beyond the talent God has given to you, nor is it greater than the power of the Lord Jesus. satan is small and of no great power but you give him the power by submitting to temptation, it is its only strength over you. Sin is common like dirt, like the mire in the pig pen, the stench of vomit, just common! Rather submit yourselves to God and truly the devil will flee, will run, will go hide in the dark were filthy things prefer to be, hidden. Exercise thyself unto godliness, obeying from the heart, ever having before you the Truth. The mind stayed has perfect peace for it can not be drawn off by the tricks, the tools, the lies of the devil and them that serve it. With patience, being slow to react, taking time to consider, giving heed to what is true, mind stayed upon Christ will have peace "if" you put in the effort.
James 1:12, " Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. "
James 5:11, " Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy. "
1 Timothy 4:7, " But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
1 Timothy 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. "
1 Samuel 15:22, " And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. "
1 Peter 1:22, " Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: "
Yes, thanks be to God that you OBEY FROM THE HEART, for it is with all thine heart. Yes you can if with all thine heart. With this, evil has no power, none, just tricks, just deception, just illusion of pleasure in what truly has no pleasure to give. The lust satisfied does not reap pleasure, it is only the illusion of it. Once all realize what they have laid with, joined with, they will reap a horror within, for it is foul beyond all words. Sewage has a better smell and taste then sin. Conceive it not, join to it not, be not confederate, be ye perfect, be ye holy. Strive for it, fight for it, thirst for it, hunger for it, run the race for it, do all you can to stand in that day, that dark and terrible day of the Lord. For many will try, but few will be able. Are ye able? yea Lord we are.
Romans 6:17, " But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. "
Acts 8:37, " And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. "
Fight for the understanding of what is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God, prove it. Daily go over it, say it, write it, share it, meditate upon it, break it down, define it, know it inside and out. Make the effort to know it, thirst and hunger. Be just, love mercy and walk humbly with God. Judgement, mercy and faith. Righteousness, Temperance and the the Judgement to come. Fear God and Keep the Commandments. Make straight the Way of the Lord. Deny thyself, take up thine own cross and follow after, if it be you will go after Christ. Set thine hands to the plough and take not thine hands from the work. Do not become entangled in the cares of the world. Name the Name of the Lord and depart from iniquity. Being a steward, it is required that the steward be faithful. Awake to righteousness and sin not. Stand in awe and sin not. Do the works if ye have the faith. Have faith, do ye the works worthy of repentance. Be a vessel meet/worthy of the Masters use. This list can be very long but they are all simply understood by saying "faithfully obedient".
Romans 12:2, " And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. "
1 Timothy 4:15, " Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. "
Psalms 77:12, " I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings. "
Psalms 119:15, " I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. "
Joshua 1:8, " This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. "
Psalms 1:2, " But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. "
Set thy mind and the devil will flee.
1 Timothy 4:1, " Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1 Timothy 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1 Timothy 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
1 Timothy 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
1 Timothy 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
1 Timothy 4:6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
1 Timothy 4:7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
1 Timothy 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
1 Timothy 4:9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.
1 Timothy 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
1 Timothy 4:11 These things command and teach.
1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
1 Timothy 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
1 Timothy 4:14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
1 Timothy 4:15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
1 Timothy 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. "
All you have to do is obey the Lord, He warned us all, of what we must do. Let go of sin and take it not up in thine hand. Go and Sin No More and the devil will flee. Remember what the Word tells of satan, how all will look upon him and say "this is it?" This is the thing that made the earth to fear, this little thing, this is all, common like dirt? Like the Wizard of Oz, nothing! (another thing taken from the book of the Lord) It is not some mighty thing that through Christ we can not overcome it, see it for what it is and refuse it. Each and every day choose to stand upon the Rock and Go and Sin No More and you will be blessed. Exhortation says yes you are able, yes you are imbued with uprightness, for God has made all man upright.
Isaiah 14:16, " They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; "
In the vision given me, I saw evil, I saw it, it was small and I will leave it there. It had no great power but to want and to lie to get what it wants. It was nothing and it is nothing and it will be put under foot, like common dirt by them that love the Lord Jesus. Truly shake the dust off thy feet and walk onward. It, is outside the presence of God and for that it is tormented beyond all words and it wants the same for you. Misery truly loveth company!
Who sayeth they are saved, born again, a new creation, but departs not from iniquity? Who truly believes they are free from the devil as they do what no saint of God would do, go have pleasure in sin? Who thinks satan flees from them as they do the sins unto death? Who truly believes the grace of God covers anyone in their willful sin after coming to the full knowledge of the Truth? Who endures not temptation and thinks they are blessed of God Almighty? I speak of the professed, for them that have yet to receive the promise, still must do the work, Repent. Make straight the Way of the Lord, YOU DO IT! Repeat after me is not a Way to the Truth to have Life. It is saying and so doing, if you love Me, then obey Me. For obedience is proof of thy love and walking in the the proof of Gods love, His Commandments.
Tear them down.
Strongholds that allow one to pretend they have what they have not, must be torn down, destroyed, let go of. For there is no servant of sin that serves Christ.
Do what is right and the devil will flee from you, doing what is wrong and the devil will rule you.
Genesis 4:7, " If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. "
The Lord sets apart for Himself them that are godly. We must then look at "godly".
Godly - to be faithful.
To be faithful is to obey what truly one has yielded their faith to. To be faithfully obedient unto death as Christ has said. What Christ has said is a Commandment, they are not suggestions. All that is written are the Commandments of God, not suggestions. They are not to be added to or taken from, but kept, maintained, done. The works of the faithful are to be obedient to the faith that works by love and is proven by deeds by the Truth. Out of love we are doers of the Truth. To be set apart, separate, peculiar, a thing noticed by the lack of excess and riot of them in the world, them that are friends with the world, them that hate God. Them who can say His Name and not depart from iniquity. Them that appear to be angles of light but continue in the darkness. One can preach Christ and still deny Him, as I have testified of over and over. Having been offered by the devil anything I wanted, just deny Christ. I could be the best preacher and still deny Christ. This ought to make us all tremble, to be sober, to be grave, to understand that many preach Christ but deny Him. That the false are well spoken of.
No matter which words we define, it always leads to one absolute Truth, obedience. If you love Me, keep My Commandments. For faithfulness is obedience and to be faithful is to be set apart for the Lord. This is for the glory of God, for one to keep, maintain, do, hold fast, to be faithful unto death and shine forth the glory of God.
Godly:
Hebrew - H2623
Word: חָסִיד
Transliteration: châçîyd
Phonetic: khaw-seed'
Part of Speech: Adjective
Definition: faithful, kind, godly, holy one, saint, pious, faithful ones...
Truly our buckler, our shield, our high tower, a strong defense. To be hedged about with what is true. This the devil flees for it has not part in what is good, right or true. It can not have any part in these things for it has no light in it, not even a single drop. I testify of this Truth, having been shown it. There is not a single drop of good in evil. Never have I been so disgusted, I never knew one could be that disgusted, to feel that dirty. Truly beyond comprehension and imagination.
In the word "godly" we find "kind". Love mercy, be just and love mercy. It is kind to love mercy and to give it. Having myself been shown great mercy, truly even now it makes me cry. Well aware of not being worthy of such a gift, the Life of Christ. Truly mercy is a beautiful thing, as God surely is beautiful. There is not beauty in the darkness, there is beauty in the light. The beauty of God is holiness and that is "apartness", to be separated from what is not godly, to be separated from evil, from the devil. This is the very same as godliness, or righteousness, or uprightness as I express always. To be separate one must be doing what is right. which expresses faithfulness, obedience, love, following, doing, keeping, maintaining. One can not be separated and still connected, that is double mindedness and a pretense. It is shining the light, it is the sacrifice that is Law, the sacrifice of righteousness, of doing what is right. This is worshiping God in the Way He desires to be worshiped and not what the false image many produce. It is not by the many names men produce, label, or the silly buildings they create. It is much more simple then all of that, it is simply doing what is right, this is truly worshiping God Almighty in the Spirit, for He is Spirit. To be in the Spirit is to be in.
To keep the Law, to walk in the Law is to have no Law. For there is no Law in doing what is good and right. The Love of God is His Commandments, they express His love and we accept that love be walking in the Commandments. We shine the light, we give praise, we show glory, we magnify His Holy Name in the works, the actions, the doing, the keeping, the maintaining, the living sacrifice that is require by them that love Him and follow Him. The act of Naming Him Lord and departing from iniquity, this is worship, it is all that is required of a steward, the act of faithfulness. To obey from the heart the doctrine received of God and what is that New Covenant, that doctrine? The Law written within us, to keep, to maintain it. To be be able, to have the Spirit of Power and be doers of it. All of these things are but one thing and they are things the devil can not abide. By the works of righteousness the devil will flee. By the keeping of the Law the devil will flee.
Draw nigh unto God and He will draw nigh unto thee. Show mercy and He will show Himself to be merciful. Show faith and He will show Himself to be faithful. Show kindness and He will show Himself to be kind. Show frowardness and He will show Himself to be froward. It is like for like, what is sown is reaped, it is a written, so it is.
Psalms 18:24, " Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.
Psalms 18:25 With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;
Psalms 18:26 With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward. "
The faithful ones, them that are godly are the faithful ones. They who love Him are faithful to Him. Faith is fidelity, loyalty, monogamy, faithfulness, obedience, trust, sincerity etc. In the keeping of that which is good we are set apart. Nothing I experienced when I heard within me that I was forgiven sounded like anything I have endlessly heard from the so called church. I have for seven years spoke of the Lord and what I heard. It is all about the work, the doing, the keeping and the maintaining. It is diligence, it is thirst, it is hunger, it is fervent desire, it is doing, fighting, warring, battling, it is Power to do, it is ability, it is overcoming, it is denying, it is taking up and following. They who have it not, can not speak of these things, they must speak of what they have, for out of the mouth one reveals themselves.
It is not just have faith, it is to have faith and suffer for it in the flesh. It is not just believe, it is believe and suffer for it in the flesh. It is not the empty grace covering they sell, it is a grace that teaches the very thing Christ said "make straight the Way of the Lord" Repent, deny thyself, take up thine cross and follow Him. It is denying ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live soberly righteously and godly lives in this present world. For now is the time for salvation.
Resist not evil, but resist the devil and it will flee from you. I see this being ignored all the time and the price for it is never good. Good is never found by doing evil, by ignoring the Commandment. I have heard all the excuses as to why a person can lash out, can be concerned by the cares of the world. There is always a limit placed by man, I will take this much and then no more. How often did Jesus bother with the affairs of government? How many times did Jesus fight back. How about Steven being stoned to death, where is the part found in the book that Steven said enough of being stoned and threw a few back? When did Paul resist the evil or get involved with politics. No doubt he was aware of what was taking place around him, but when did he mock the rulers, laugh at them, speak ill of them? When did anyone stand against but it was against the Commandment of God, did any refuse to obey? This has been on my mind a lot as of late. With the sad state of the world, and all the lies that are clearly lies. Yet it is written to be subject even to the froward master, not just the righteous ones. As long as you are not told to do anything outside the Commandments of God, you are to obey, to submit thyself. Whether one likes it or not is a mute point.
I think how Michael made no comments as to what satan was, yet said God rebuke thee. He did not rail accusations that no doubt satan would of been worthy of. Nor did Christ argue with Pilate when Pilate was deciding whether or not to put Christ to death. No doubt Jesus could have listed every single filthy vile disgusting thing the man ever did and would do, but rather Christ stood silent and railed not against Pilate. Was it evil to put Christ to death, an innocent man, yes it was, yet Christ resisted that evil not. Was it evil to put Daniel in the Lions den? absolutely, yet Daniel yielded himself to his fate. Evil it was stretch Peter, to crucify him? Surely it was. Evil to Stone Steven to death? Of course it was. Imagine how many suffered who were innocent and yet none of them railed against the evil. This was the example set, this was the Commandment given. Who follows it? I understand the desire of the flesh to rail, to want to make it known "I am being wronged" and "how dare you do such a thing". As told to me by a Christian, to FIGHT FOR MY RIGHTS!
Read Hebrews 11 again, how the people of God suffered and yet did so willingly. Read about all the Prophets of God who suffered and the example they gave of how to be. Where is that obedience, that faithfulness in this world? Who prays for our leaders, not just the ones they agree with, but them they do not? Easy it is to think more of ourselves then we ought, to speak poorly of them that are supposed to be shown honor, at least by them that profess to follow Christ.
Who takes the blow and turns the other cheek? Who teaches their children this? Who truly becomes weak and by so doing is made strong through Christ? Who truly obeys and who is just talking? Who will lay their life down for a friend? Who weighs this cost? Who realizes this is a cost? Who is willing to pay the cost? Whom is offended by this?
Matthew 5:39, " But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. "
Jude 1:9, " Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. "
James 5:10, " Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. "
Every time I read Hebrews 11 I debate the same question I think anyone reading it does. Could I, would I, will I? When filled with the Spirit I would of leaped for the chance.
How about John being banished to an island alone, did he say what I hear most say and start building a raft to get off that island? For most say they will not submit. Yet they all say they follow Christ, at least the ones who believe you have to follow Him. There are many who say you do not need to follow Him at all, just say you believe. Most will not give up a single meal, let alone pay the price found in the book of the Lord. If you believe you have to follow Him, who is then following?
I think about Noah, he lived 950 years. Imagine warning the people of a flood to come for one hundred years. Just that alone is a great price, being mocked by the people for hundred years, repeating the same warning over and over for a hundred years is a great work. Living to see that flood and all the people drowned, what a price to pay, to bear, to hear it, the beating upon the door of the ark. Living on a ship filled with 2 of every unclean beast and 7 of every clean beast. The stench, the labor involved, what a great thing to endure in that one act alone. What a constitution one must have to endure for 950 years.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, stood before a furnace and refused to disobey God and worship anything but God. Consider the constitution to not rail, to not curse, cuss, and accuse such a froward king. Stood fast and allowed themselves to be thrown into the fire. Truly called into a furnace of affliction and they went willingly. Look at that example given. Look at that obedience, that faithfulness, that fervent desire to love the Lord God and Him only. The willingness to pay the true cost, all, everything. I have quoted this many times, "whether God will or whether He will not", they would not deny Him.
Abraham told to sacrifice his son. Most will not teach their children to turn the other cheek, let alone be willing to sacrifice them. Imagine the the cost, the pain Abraham felt knowing what he was going to do to his own son. Absolute obedience, absolute faithfulness.
Who is the the greater coward? The one who bears it, turns the cheek, or the one who hits back? We know the opinion of the world and them in the world already. Whom does the God consider to be the strong one, the weak of the strong? Whom does God choose, the weak of the strong?
Who really thinks that all of this was not a work by each and every one of them? Who sees that they all had faith but if they had not done the works of faith, being faithful, their faith would have been vain, useless, of no value? When Abraham was put to the test, would he sacrifice Isaac, that was the work of Abraham's faith. To be put to the test, what would you not do for God Almighty? If you truly believe and know, and have all the faith or even of just a mustard seed, what would you say to God if asked to endure such trials?
If any of them had resisted the evil, of what example would we now have? To whom would thy have yielded themselves servants to obey? Who would of ruled over them?
Each will have to decide on what they will stand and in the end they will answer for their own choices and not any others. They who teach will be held to a greater standard, and them who abuse the position will bear the reward they earned. Decisions, decisions in the valley of decisions. What will be thine decision? To obey and resist not evil but resist the devil? Will it be something of thine own desire, thine own invention?
Always something to consider, to go over, to make certain of thy faith. Are you in the faith that works by love and is proven by deeds? Do you study to show thyself approved, mind stayed upon the Lord? If you are one who has heard are you doing all you can to remember what you heard? Who is fighting the good fight of faith, being faithful? Who is doing all they can to stand in that terrible day of the Lord? Who will truly love His appearing and who will beg to have rock fall on them and hide them from His appearance? Who will be able to enter and who will be unable? Who is standing at the door even now, ready, waiting, watching? Who is the bride that prepares for the Masters return and who prepares not? Who is fighting for their rights and who is fighting what is right? Who can answer right now what is right? Who can answer what is Truth?
This is the Lord day, it is the seventh day. This is the day God rested and sanctified making it holy. This is the forth Commandment day. This is a day made for man and not man for it. This is the Sabbath and they who love God keep it holy. It is your standard that you choose, that you work out to be good. For it is lawful to do good on this day. It is not what I think, it is what you have come to understand. Pray God to have a conscience clear before God and all man. May it be so Amen.
It is remission of sin and not permission.
It is not liberty in sin, it is liberty from it.
It is not inability, it is ability.
Seek, Repent and Sin No More...
We are the words we speak, out of the mouth we all shall be judged.
Blessed be the Name of the Lord Amen and Amen.
