Indira Gandhi was born on 19 November 1917 in the most influential, traditional Nehru family of India's politics. Father Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and mother Kamala Devi Dada Motilal Nehru was a renowned lawyer, one of India's leading freedom fighters and the Congress leader.
