Job Summary:
The main responsibility is to assist Senior Analytics Professionals in delivering actuarial and financial modeling consulting services to colleagues and clients. Perform medium complexity mathematical and actuarial calculations to prepare data in order to be analysed and reviewed by senior actuaries.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Participate in the process to determine the actuarial appraisal value of an insurance company as part of a merger and acquisition transaction.
Work with Senior Actuary to examine alternative forms of risk financing.
Interpret and analyze basic underwriting information to assist brokers in marketing an evaluating reinsurance programs.
Under the supervision of a Senior Actuary design, price and evaluate reinsurance structures from an actuarial perspective.
Based on the knowledge acquired start analysing reinsurance structures independently.
Responsible for responding to simple client enquiries and concerns and resolving issues promptly.
Update Actuaries on issues, progress, etc., regularly and upon request.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal & external clients.
Document all external correspondence and telephone conversations in accordance with GC procedures, minimizing the potential for errors and omissions.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or related quantitative field such as Mathematics or Statistics.
1 to 5 years of relevant insurance/ reinsurance experience performing Actuarial analysis.
Completed 2-3 Actuarial exams.
Good interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining good client, reinsurer and internal relationships.
Analytical aptitude as demonstrated through academic experience or work assignments.
Strong ability to be organized and pay attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and writing skills for complex communications with clients, markets and GC colleagues at all levels of the organization.
Good ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency etc.
Strong academic record in major and summer internship or other work experience.
Excellent problem solving skills and financial aptitude.
General knowledge of business principles and reinsurance industry trends.
Great computer skills for using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
