Visiting Marina in Brazil (Sao Paulo & Rio)/Visitando a Marina en Brasil (Sao Paulo & Rio)

Hello everyone! Today I would like to share with you my last experience which was to visit a marvelous country as is Brazil. The purpose of this journey was to find out about the place where Marina (my girlfriend) was born. Please accompany me in this amazing journey!

Hola a todos! Hoy me gustaría compartir con vosotros mi última experiencia que fue visitar un maravilloso país como es Brasil. El propósito de este viaje fue el de saber acerca del lugar donde Marina (mi novia) nació. Por favor, acompañadme en este maravilloso viaje!

First stage: Sao Paulo.

My journey started on June, the 9th when I arrived in Sao Paulo after a 10 hours flight without no stop from Madrid Barajas. I have to say that I had never travelled that far by plane and I was a bit scared at the beginning, but this feeling faded quickly and I could enjoy my flight (mainly because I slept some hours).

Mi viaje comenzó el día 9 de Junio, cuando llegué a Sao Paulo después de un vuelo de 10 horas sin parada desde el Madrid Barajas. Tengo que decir que nunca había viajado tan lejos en avión y estaba un poco asustado al principio, pero este sentimiento se desvaneció rápidamente y pude disfrutar de mi vuelo (principalmente porque dormí unas horas).

Sao Paulo is a enormous city with around 12 million of people living there. At first time, it's difficult to get into this city without getting a little bit scared, because you can see many people in the street doing some activities that you wouldn't like to see. In such regard, I have to say, that it's only first impression because once you have seen the city (part of it), the closest people, the restaurants and other things, you will automatically regret about the first opinion.

Sao Paulo es una ciudad enorme con acerca de 12 millones de habitantes viviendo allí. En una primera impresión, es difícil introducirte en esta ciudad sin estar un poco asustado, porque tu puedes ver mucha gente en la calle haciendo ciertas actividades que no te gustaría ver. En ese aspect, tengo que decir, que esto solo fue la primera impresión ya que una vez tu has visto la ciudad ( o parte de ella), la gente más cercana, los restaurantes y otras cosas, automáticamente te arrepentirás sobre la primera opinión.

My journey was planned for ten days, so I guess it is really difficult to see the everything and also to try to explain to you the greatness of the city, so with this text I will show you some places or things I have liked the most.

Mi viaje fue planeado para diez días, por lo que creo que es realmente difícil ver todo y ambién intentar explicaros a vosotros la grandeza de la ciudad, por lo que con este texto os explicaré algunos sitios o cosas que me gustaron las que más.

1. A little walk through Paulista Avenue (Avenida Paulista).

This avenue is one of the most crowded of Sao Paulo. You can enjoy the good people around, the sellers in the street, the bars, the shoppings, some museum, etc...surrounded by great buildings which make you think that this city is something more than a normal city in the south east of this enormous country as it is Brazil. I visited it on Sunday and it was really nice to see how people enjoyed this free and sunny day.

1. Un pequeño paseo por la Avenida Paulista.

Esta avenida es una de las más masificadas de Sao Paulo. Puedes disfrutar de buena gente alrededor, los vendedores en la calle, los bares, las tiendas, algún museo, etc...rodeados de grandes edificios que te hacen reflexionar sobre que esta ciudad es algo más que una ciudad normal en el sur este de este enorme país como es Brasil. Fui en Domingo y fue realmente bonito el ver como la gente disfrutó de este día libre y soleado.

1. The best sight from the city in "Praça da Se" (from the top of a public building)

In the city center we can find this square (Praça da Se) where a great cathedral is placed. In a near building the views of the city are the best, there is no possibility to see the ending of this city from up there! You can imagine the measure of the city and also, get delighted with the view of the cathedral right in front of you!

1. La mejor vista de la ciudad en "Praça da Se" (desde lo alto de un edificio público)

En el centro de la ciudad podemos encontrar esta plaza (Praça da Se) donde está situada una gran catedral. En un edificio cercano, las vistas de la ciudad son las mejores, no hay posibilidad de ver el final de esta ciudad desde allá arriba! Te puedes imaginar la medida de la ciudad y también, quedarte deleitado con la vista de la catedral justo enfrente de ti!

1. Museu do Futebol no estadio do pacaembu

What else to do in SP? Easy, being in a city which belongs to Brazil, a country where football is more than a hobby, its a passion, it is a religion, you can go and visit the football museum. I have to say that I enjoyed it a lot (I am a real football passionate) and I took a picture of the stadium where it is placed. Inside you can see mainly story of Brazilian teams, above all, the Seleçao or Brazilian National Team.

¿Qué más hacer en SP? Fácil siendo una ciudad que pertenece a Brasil, un país donde el fútbol es más que un divertimiento, es una pasión, es una religión, tú puedes ir a visitar el museo del fútbol. Tengo que decir que disfruté de él mucho ( Soy un real apasionado del fútbol) y tomé ua foto del estadio donde se encuentra el mismo. Dentro puedes ver principalmente la historia de equipos brasileños, sobre todo, de la Selección de Brasil.

Oh, mis queridos steemians, olvidé preguntaros. Cómo luce me queda esta camiseta del equipo de fútbol de Sao Paulo?

Now I think its time to talk a little bit about food! and what about food? If I don't talk about the typical dish from Brazil then it won't be a great post from this country.

Feijoda is the best dish you can ever enjoy from the Brazilian cuisine. This dish is made with baked beans, rice, some meat, banana, orange, etc...everything on the same plate and all with the best taste! If you go to Brazil and come without eating it, you haven't visited this country yet!

Ahora creo que es el momento de hablar un poco sobre comida! ¿Y el qué acerca de comuda? Si no hablas acerca del más típico plato de comida de Brasil entonces no será un gran post de este país.

Feijoada es el mejor plato que puedes disfrutar de la cocina brasileña. Este plato está hecho con frijoles, arroz, carne, banana, naranja, etc...todo sobre el mismo plato y con el mejor sabor! Si tú vas a Brasil y vuelves sin comer esto, tú no has visitado este país aun!

The second part of my journey was to visit Rio de Janeiro, one of the most beautiful places at the sea that you can enjoy all over the world. You have no idea how great this place is, the only problem is that a storm with a lot of rain could be part of your journey appearing whenever it takes.

La segunda parte de mi viaje fue para visitar Rio de Janeiro, una de los sitios más bonitos en el mar que tu puedas disfrutar en el mundo. No te haces una idea de lo genial de este sitio, el único problema es que una tormenta con mucha llucia puede ser parte de tu viaje apareciendo en cualquier momento.

The best places in Rio (besides the beaches of Leblón, Ipanema and of course, Copacabana) are the following:

Los mejores sitios en Rio (aparte de las playas de Lebón, Ipanema por supuesto, Copacabana) son los siguientes:

1. Redeemer Christ.

The most stunning views of the whole city you can find them at the top of Corcovado mountain where the Redeemer Christ was placed long time ago (it came from France). I was really close not to be able to see this great thing, but the weather gave us an opportunity and cleared up at the time before we were leaving. It wouldn't be the same leaving Rio without visiting this place. Great Christ at Corcovado Mountain and the best views. To get up there it is about 61 reais and you go by small train to the top of the mountain.

1. Cristo Redentor

Las más maravillosas vistas de toda la ciudad se pueden encontrar en en la cima del monte de Corcovado donde el Cristo Redentor fue situado hace mucho tiempo (vino de Francia). Estuvo realmente cerca el no ser capaz de ver esta maravillosa cosa, pero el tiempo nos dio una oportunidad y se despejó al tiempo justo antes de estar marchando. No hubiera sido lo mismo dejar Rio sin visitar este lugar. Gran Cristo en el monte del Corcovado y las mejores vistas. Para llegar allí arriba hay que pagar unos 61 reales y vas en un tren pequeño hasta la cima de la montaña.

1. Escadaria Selaron

A touristic place in the center of the city is Escadaria Selaron. This is a set of stairs near favelas which have been decorated by people with different tiles from everywhere. There are a lot of more beautiful places to visit in Rio, but this place is real important due to its meaning of being close to the favelas, and it is really beautiful.

Un sitio turístico en el centro de la ciudad es Escadaria Selaron. Es un conjunto de escaleras cerca de las favelas que han sido decoradas por gente con diferentes azulejos de todos los sitios. Hay muchos lugares más bonitos a visitar e Rio, pero este lugar es muy importante debido al significado de estar cerca de las favelas, y es muy bonito.

Do not forget to take a walk through this great botanical garden from Rio! You will not regret of it!

1. Pao de Açucar

Another great place where you will enjoy of the best views of the city and also the nature surrounding the great beach of Copacabana is the Pao de açucar! I will absolutely advise you to pay the cableway ticket to enjoy one of the most beautiful places in Rio

Otro gran lugar donde disfrutarás de las mejores vistas de la ciudad y también de la naturaleza rodeando la gran playa de Copacabana es el Pao de Açucar! Absolutamente recomendaré que pagues lo que vale el ticket para su teleférico para disfrutar uno de los lugares más bonitos de Rio.

1. Ipanema Beach

To end up with this touristic visit and counting that you have heard more about Copacabana than any other beach in Rio, I would like to show you the Ipanema beach. This beach is really long (almost as Copacabana is) and you can see a lot of people playing volley, football, jogging or enjoying the sun at everytime. In my case (cloudy day) I only enjoyed the fresh air and a great walk through this well known and awesome beach in Rio.

Para finalizar con esta visita turística y contando que habréis oído más acerca de Copacabana que de otra cualquier playa en Rio, me gustaría enseñaros la playa de Ipanema. Esta playa es realmente larga( casi como Copacabana) y puedes ver mucha gente jugando al volley playa, jugando fútbol, corriendo o disfrutando del sol en todo momento. En mi caso (día nublado) solo disfruté del aire fresco y de un gran paseo a través de esta bien conocida sorprendente playa en Rio.
