Just like everybody else, I get mad when a guilty person goes free.

Alec Baldwin was clearly guilty. He was only going to get eighteen months. Still, he didn't get off because the system was defunct. He didn't get off because a law needs changing. He got off because of human error.

I believe that OJ Simpson was guilty as hell. The system functioned fine. He got his day in court. Murder was illegal back then, too. He was acquitted due to human error.

Yeah, it sucks when guilty people go free. It sucks more when innocent people are condemned. Most of the time, it's human error.

The injustices that piss me off are the cases like George Zimmerman, Kyle Rittenhouse, and now, Daniel Penny, in which the person is somewhere between probably not guilty and clearly and obviously innocent, and got stuck with an activist DA who decided to put their lives on the line for political gain.

There are people who still believe that the people I listed above are guilty. The sensible person who believes that any of those men should be in prison doesn't exist. If you're a DA, we expect you to be sensible.

I'm sure somebody is going to say, "Hey, they got their day in court. Two out of the three guys you listed have already been acquitted. See, the system worked."

Well, if that's the system working, I would hate to see it malfunction.

These cases are different because they aren't cases of human error committed by private citizens. These are cases of malice committed by agents of the state. It's the willingness of these people to willfully endanger the life of another human being for personal gain.

The fastest way to fix this is to vote these mother-fuckers out of office. But, there has to be a way to generally hold DAs accountable when they're clearly and obviously targeting innocent people with criminal charges for political gain.
