My very first Kdrama Review! "Uncontrollably fond"
Never expected this? Me too. My friends dont know i am also a fan of kdrama series but not that divulge myself into it everyday. Just when the story gets better and better each episode haha. This would not be the 1st kdrama i have seen but it would be my first ever review.
Filipinos are very fond of korean dramas since hmm ... about more than a decade? Before koreans, taiwanese dramas were on trend even chinese dramas. Korean dramas before had a different approach. They kind of have Nicholas Sparks touch to them. Someone always dies but not all of them.
UNCONTROLLABLY FOND REVIEW
Aired: July 2016
Ended: September 2016
Starring: Kim Woo Bin, Bae Suzy, Im Joo Wan and Im Ju Eun
By the very first episode, it was not the very usual approach for any korean drama. The main character Shin Joon Young played by Kim woo Bin was diagnosed with an uncurable disease. Expected to live for only 3months more, he denies medical treatment to extend his life and accepts his fate. Although quite perplexed, he is determined to live his life and make every moment worth it. So, for me the very pilot episode s quite great. However, I wondered how the other episodes would go when in fact the first one is like a climax episode on other dramas. I knew then it was a "classic korean drama" where the main character dies.
Fast forward to other episodes, some parts were quite confusing because some have been jumping from one story on to the other. The main character however is very mean to his leading lady and there is a reason behind it. They both find themselves fighting their feelings and it is so frustrating. You might get lost in the middle f the story but you'll find your way back.
Heading towards the ending, you will find yourself having pity on the main characters and the supporting roles annoying.
Final episode, it was subtle. Everything was subtle to the extent it felt there was something lacking. It kind of like they were in a hurry ending the movie. I kind of hoped there were happy endings.
Conclusion: I liked the drama. Not too dramatic and not too romantic with a little dash of comedy added to it so i give ☆☆☆☆ out of 5 stars. I applaud the main characters in this drama. They did great.
If there is a korean drama you can recommend please do so and i'll do a review too!
Thanks,
