Keto Diet: Deli Lettuce Wraps
Being on the Keto diet, it is important to have prepared food on-hand for when hunger strikes. If you don’t have anything prepared, you can always make a quick lettuce wrap. Deli Lettuce Wraps have become a staple of my diet when I need a quick bite. Instead of reaching for the carb-loaded snacks, these only take one minute and will keep you on track!
Ingredients Required
Lettuce - Whole large leaves
Sandwich meat - ham, turkey, roast beef, salami, pepperoni
Sliced Cheese - provolone, cheddar, colby jack, swiss, etc
Condiments - Mayo, mustard, dijon, horseradish, guacamole, salad dressing, hummus
Others - Sliced Avocado, spices, peppers
There are plenty of other ingredients you can use to make a yummy snack or light lunch. Experiment with your favorites, the nice part is this only takes a couple of minutes to prepare. In my example, I will just use Lettuce, Meat, Cheese, and Mayo/mustard.

Start by cutting the biggest leaves off of a head of lettuce. I’ve already got my lettuce pre-cut with the large leaves set aside for wraps. The smaller green stuff can be saved for salads or for dressing other dishes. Lay out your lettuce leaves flat on a cutting board or large plate. Remove any brown/black yucky looking sections.
Next is lay the meat down. Today, I am using Black forest Ham. Note that I do this in a particular order as to create the least amount of condiments “leaking” out of the wrap :)
Next, add your condiments and spices. I’ve added about a tablespoon avocado mayonnaise and ½ tablespoon of dijon mustard.
Next, fold your cheese slice in half and lay over the condiments. Today I’m using colby-jack sliced cheese. If you buy your cheese pre-sliced like we do, this is easy to fold in half and tear. If you are cutting your own off of the block, try to get a slice about 2 inches (5 cm) in width.
Next is to roll it up. Start at one long edge and fold the lettuce to just cover the cheese. Now continue rolling and the lettuce will hold itself.
And that’s it! It only takes about 1 minute once you have all of the ingredients ready. It is a quick fix for any keto dieters who needs a bite and is pressed for time.
