Keto Soft Taco Shells & Taco Seasoning Mix

in #keto7 years ago

Recipes makes a single shell.

This recipe is quick and easy to make. It takes longer for the pan to heat up than it takes to mix the ingredients. Unless you grab the wrong pan like I did, they flip easily when the top is nicely and bubbly over the entire top. I grabbed the pan I need to replace because I burned something in it and it sticks now. So please excuse my jagged edges.

Ingredients:

• 1 large egg
• 1 tsp. of coconut flour
• 1/8 tsp. of baking soda
• 1/8 tsp. of baking powder
• 1 tbs. of butter
• Salt to taste
• 1 tbs. of heavy cream
• 1 tbs. Water

Note: You need an 8-inch skillet that can cook eggs without them sticking. I use one of the green pans, but it doesn’t have to be a green pan if eggs do not stick in them, it is fine.

Directions

Mix all the dry ingredients into a bowl large enough to whisk the mixture when the liquids are added.

In a small bowl, mix all the dry ingredients. Allow both to sit while pre-heating the skillet with ½ tbs. butter on low heat. Swirl the pan to ensure the entire bottom is covered in butter.

While the pan is heating, mix dry ingredients into liquids and whisk by hand until lump free. It does not take long to whisk, less than 1 minute.

When butter is sizzling slightly in the pan, pour the entire mixture into the center of the pan and allow it to spread on its own to cover the pan.

Cook on a medium-low heat until most of the top starts to bubble and the edges are dry. Carefully flip soft taco shell. Continue to cook until firm.

Remove to a plate, add any meat, cheeses and vegetables you like. Serve with veggies of your choice. ENJOY!

Homemade Taco Seasoning Blend

Ingredients:

• ½ tsp Paprika
• 1 tbsp. Chili powder
• 1 tsp black Pepper
• ¼ tsp Onion powder
• 1 tsp Salt
• ¼ tsp Garlic powder
• ½ tsp Cumin
• ¼ dried Oregano

This created enough mix to season a full pound of ground beef/turkey or whatever. If you like it spicy, add a tsp crushed red peppers. If you prefer it less spicy, decrease the amount of black pepper and leave out the crushed red peppers.

Brown your hamburger meat in a skillet. Add chopped onions if you like. Cook until the meat is done.

Add ¼ cup of water and the above mix to the meat. Stir constantly until the spices are dissolved and thickened to your liking.

Add the meat to your taco shell and top with cheese, lettuce, tomato and any other veggies you like.

ENJOY!

Wow looks good. How many carbs would you say are In a serving?

I listed the macros for the shell. What you put in the shell will determine if there are any extra macros to count. The spice mix recipe I included does not have any countable macros because there is so little of it.
