I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world.
나는 비즈니스 영역에서 성공의 끝을 보았다.
In others’ eyes, my life is an epitome of success.
타인들의 눈에 내 인생은 성공의 상징이다.

However, aside from work, I have little joy. In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am accustomed to.
하지만, 일빼놓고 나는 즐거움이 별로 없었다. 결국 부는 내가 익숙해진 삶의 한가지 사실이었을 뿐이었다.

At this moment, lying on the sick bed and recalling my whole life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth that I took so much pride in, have paled and become meaningless in the face of impending death.
지금 이순간에, 병상에 들어 누워 내 삶 전체를 회고해보고 있는 데, 깨닫는것은 내가 그처럼 자부했던 그 많은 명성과 재산은 막 닥쳐올 죽음 앞에 희미해저 아무 의미 없어졌다는 것이다.

In the darkness, I look at the green lights from the life supporting machines and hear the humming mechanical sounds, I can feel the breath of god of death drawing closer…
어둠 속에서 나는 생명 연장 장치의 초록색 광선을 바라보며 윙윙거리는 기계소리를 들을 때 점점 가까이 다가오는 죽음의 신이 쉬는 숨소리를 느낄 수 있다.

Now I know, when we have accumulated sufficient wealth to last our lifetime, we should pursue other matters that are unrelated to wealth…
이제야 나는 깨닫는다 – 우리 인생의 삶을 유지할 만큼 적당한 재물을 쌓은 후엔 부와 무관한 것들을 추구해야 한다는 것을…

Should be something that is more important:
더 중요한 그 무엇이어야 한다.

Perhaps relationships, perhaps art, perhaps a dream from younger days ...
어쩌면 이런 저런 인간관계, 아니면 예술, 또는 젊었을 시절에 가졌던 꿈을…

Nonstop pursuing of wealth will only turn a person into a twisted being, just like me.
쉬지않고 재물을 추구하는 것은 결국 나 같이 비꼬인 인간으로 전향시킬것이다.

God gave us the senses to let us feel the love in everyone’s heart, not the illusions brought about by wealth.
신은 우리에게 각자의 가슴안에 있는 사랑을 느낄 수 있는 감각(senses)을 주셨다, 재물이 가져다 주는 그 환상이 아니라.

The wealth I have won in my life I cannot bring with me.
내 인생 동안 성취한 부를 나는 가져갈 수 없다.

What I can bring is only the memories precipitated by love.
내가 가져갈 수 있는 것은 사랑에 빠졌던 그 기억들뿐이다.

That’s the true riches which will follow you, accompany you, giving you strength and light to go on.
그 기억들이야 말로 너를 동반해줄 참된 재보이니 그 재보들이야 말로 네게 살아갈 힘과 빛을 줄 것이다.

Love can travel a thousand miles. Life has no limit. Go where you want to go. Reach the height you want to reach. It is all in your heart and in your hands.
사랑은 1,000 마일을 갈 수 있다. 삶에는 한계가 없다. 가고 싶은 곳을 가라. 높이 올라가고 싶은 곳으로 올라가라. 모든 것이 너의 마음과 너의 손안에 있다.

What is the most expensive bed in the world? " Sick bed" …
이 세상에서 제일 비싼 침대가 뭐냐고? – “병상이다”…

You can employ someone to drive the car for you, make money for you but you cannot have someone to bear the sickness for you.
너는 너를 위해 운전해줄 사람을 고용할 수 있고, 돈을 벌어줄 사람을 구할 수도 있지만 너 대신 아파줄 사람을 구할 수는 없다.

Material things lost can be found. But there is one thing that can never be found when it is lost – "Life".
잃어버린 것들은 다시 찾을 수 있다. 하지만 잃은 후에 절대로 되찾을 수 없는 것이 하나 있으니 - "삶" 이다.

When a person goes into the operating room, he will realize that there is one book that he has yet to finish reading – "Book of Healthy Life".
수술실에 들어가면, 읽어 내야하는 유일한 책이 한권있다는 것을 알게 될 테니 - “건강한 삶에 관한 책"이다.

Whichever stage in life we are at right now, with time, we will face the day when the curtain comes down.
우리가 지금 삶의 어느 순간에 있던, 결국 시간이 지나면 우리는 장막의 커튼이 내려오는 날을 맞이할 것이다.
