One Room Apartments in Seoul

The typical price for a one-room apartment in Seoul will be around 5,000,000 won deposit/ 600,000 won a month. The more deposit you put down the lower the monthly rent will be.

Kitchen Area

One room apartments are very common in Seoul, especially in places like Gangnam and Apgujeong since the land is so expensive. A typical one-room usually has a kitchen right when you walk in. Near or under the sink you will find a washing machine. On the kitchen top counter, you will find an electric stove. There will be storage above and below the sink area to put your cleaning supplies and food products. The fridge will be next to the kitchen. The main issue for most will be finding a place to put their dishes. Usually, you can buy a dish tray that goes over the sink if your sink is big enough. You will probably need to get a standing shelf for your rice cooker and microwave.

Living Area

The room should have a standing closet or a closet but that usually will not be big enough. Many look to buy clothing racks because the closet is just not big enough for all your clothes. Then you will not just enough room for a small desk, a chair, and a bed (double). Most one-room apartments will come with an air conditioner because the summers in Korea get very hot and humid.

Bathroom Area

The bathroom area is very small but not too bad if you are living alone. There is a small storage closet, sink, and toilet. Sometimes the shower area will be separated from the sink and toilet by a glass wall. Because the bathroom area is so small it is very easy to clean with the shower head.
