🍲 Korea Adventures: A Taste of Korea! 🍲

I had a feeling that I was going to love Korean food, and I was right! My love for Korean food first started when I started eating Shin Ramen in the States. For those of you who may not know what Shin Ramen is... it is a really spicy instant ramen meal that you can find at most grocery stores. It is extremely spicy! When I was younger, I was not able to handle spice at all, but my love for Shin Ramen helped me develop my tolerance for spicy food, and now I LOVE spicy food.

Well, I was in for a treat, as I am visiting @ramengirl in Korea! Korean dishes tend to be spicy, and I've had my share of very flavorful dishes. I thought I would share some of my favorite meals in Korea with you all.

On my first night in Korea, we went to a Korean Pancake restaurant. Korean pancake is not like American pancake, as their dishes are always savory, not sweet. Below is a green onion pancake we ordered! Absolutely delicious!

In the morning, I got a dish called Lamien, which is similar to Shin Ramen. It is made with instant noodles, and it is extremely spicy. Different restaurants, will have their own twist on Lamien by adding different vegetables to it. This particular dish had cheese on it!

Next up is, Tofu soup. This is one of my favorite dishes to eat. It is perfect when the weather is freezing outside. It is served boiling hot, and you eat this soup with rice!

So Korean's really know how to fry chicken! They did an awesome job getting this dish perfectly crispy!

I also enjoy that Korean's serve many side dishes. These plates do not cost extra, and they are unlimited. MMmm!

I've enjoyed every meal I have had in Korea so far. What Korea dishes have you tried that you have really enjoyed? Feel free to leave them below. Maybe I can go try them out!

You have to try the Korean sesame cookies. I learned how to make them and every person that tries them loves the taste!

(There is a picture on my blog of them)

Ohh I’ll see if I can find them!

When I was in Seoul, I stumbled upon a little Memil Guksu (buckwheat noodle, similar to soba) place with a long queue of locals outside. The name was "Mijin" and it is located in the Gwanghwamun area (5 mins walk from Gwanghwamun station on Jong-ro). They were some of the best soba noodles I've ever had in my life, and apart from Soba they also serve a variety of other traditional dishes (like bimbimbap, seafood/kimchi pancakes etc.). I just checked and it seems like they're still around (they have been since 1954!), so if you're still in Seoul I'd highly recommend! Cold refreshing soba noodles, a nice change from all the meat and fried food :)

WOW!!!!! I'm drooling. This look amazing! I will be back in Seoul in a couple of days... I'll see if I can squeeze this meal in! :)

Definitely try to if you can! The place is pretty centrally located, though, around dinner time when we were there, queues were long, so we actually went for a beer and some snacks before returning a little later in the evening when the queue had disappeared! Hope you enjoy!

That savory onion private looks AMAZING!!!! Have fun visiting @ramengirl ! I love when steemit people can get together. It's so awesome! I met my first "steemit friend" in person today and it was just the coolest to know that I made a new friend because of this community!

Glad you found one as well! Plus, you get awesome Korean food as a bonus! Trying new foods is one of my favorite things about traveling, so thanks for sharing with us!

Also you are both so cute! I love that last picture of you together!

OMG! Who is your Steemit friend that you got to meet? I know the feeling, it's so exciting! :)

I will never be satisfied with technology until it is able to provide apps that can download these kind of meals. This looks inviting.
