In the summer I lived with my grandmother, and she had a large and beautiful garden. Every time I was sad, I ran there and watched the flowers grow there. For some reason, among the subtle, sweet aromas, peace and tranquility always arose in my soul.

One day, after another quarrel with friends, I ran into the garden again, but this time I got so far that no one could see me, or rather, how bad I felt, that's when I saw them. I've never seen these flowers before. I knew the name of every plant in the garden, but their... they didn't seem real to me. Coming closer to them, a subtle, sweet fragrance hit my nostrils, which, it seemed to me, drove away all my sorrows. The buds, the size of a large apple, and the color of the dawn delighted me, which made my soul feel joyful. Then I ran to my grandmother to find out what kind of flowers they were. After a little thought, she said that these flowers were called peonies.

It's been a few years since that meeting, and I'm still sure that those flowers are my favorite, because every time I see them, my soul becomes so light.
