Chasing Embers is now KTHONA

The pandemic and lockdowns have changed a lot things. And this changes have not spared our band)
The pandemic reached Ukraine about two months after we finished our first Ukrainian tour supporting our debut album "Beckoning Call".
Thanks to our hard work in 2019, at the end of the year we aspired to become the nominees of the Best Ukrainian Metal Act 2019 and performed on the same stage with the best Ukrainian bands.

With the arrival of the pandemic and lockdown, we had an opportunity to pause and reflect on our work over the past four years of the band`s existence.
Among other things, each member has personally considered what was important to them in life.

Each of us continued to work on new music, being in different parts of Kyiv. For months, we’ve only been communicating through messengers and videoconferences.
Actually in 2020 we realized that we wanted to change everything.
We want to play more expressive and daring music, write more candid lyrics on exciting topics (money, sex, real desires and other sensitive topics of today).

We will say what we want to say without shyness and boundaries
For several months we have been thinking about a new name and have settled on the option that our frontwoman Julie has come up with.
Now we are Kthona!

The style of our music is now a mixture of Nu metal, Industrial and electronic music. But let the audience tell what we’re playing now.
In 2021, we’re going to release a lot of singles and music videos. The first video has already come out, and I’m going to write about it here on Stimmit next week.
