La Liga Gameweek 25 Preview Part 2
Villarreal - Getafe
Eliminated by Lyon at Thursday from Europa League, and now Villarreal will only focus on the league for the rest of the season. Last week they slipped in the end against Espanyol, in a game they probably should have won. Here they will be playing a side that humiliated them last time they met, and led to the sacking of Frán Escriba at that time losing 4-0.
Now Villarreal have to start winning again after three matches without a win in the league, and the elimination against Lyon. Here they will be without the arrested Rubén Semedo, the suspended Álvaro and the injured players, Bruno Soriano and Nicola Sansone. Luckily Samu Castillejo is back!
Getafe will miss suspended Damián Suárez and Juan Cala (On his way to China), but Antunes is back, and Getafe have taken points away from Sevilla and Barcelona in the last two away games.
I have a Villarreal win here for sure, but it will not be easy against the solid Getafe-defense.
Athletic Club - Málaga
Another disappointing night for Athletic at Thursday in another defeat at the San Mamés, but qualified after their good result from the first leg. Here Málaga is the visitors that can’t win a football match anymore.. Slipped yet again against Valencia last week, and should probably have won that game.
Aritz Aduriz and Raúl Garcia is back after their suspension last week, so hopefully for the Basquee-team, Aduriz and Rulo could help with a win here. Muniain and Balenziaga is the players out. Ignasi Miquel, Federico Ricca and Recio will be out for Málaga this afternoon.
I don’t see many goals coming here, but maybe a 1-0 win for Athletic as normal for Málaga this season.
Valencia - Real Sociedad
This will maybe the most entertaining game of the weekend with two attacking and lovely sides to watch. Valencia were lucky last week with a 2-1 win against Málaga, while Real Sociedad had a 3-0 win against Levante, but disappointed in the Europa League, and were knocked out of the competition.
I see end to end stuff here and Garay and Kondogbia out for Valencia will not make it any less more entertaining I think, but Willian Jose is unfortunately out for Real Sociedad due to injury. Goalkeeper Rulli and Raúl Navas will also be out for the visitors.
I see goals goals and goals coming here. Goals with a Valencia-win. Valencia is the most impressive side for me, and the absences for Real Sociedad doesn’t make it any easier for La Real. 3-1?
Sevilla - Atlético Madrid
Partidazo of the weekend! Sevilla had a great game against Manchester United, but couldn’t convert their chances. Here they won’t get it any easier, but the chances obviously is there playing at home. Atlético Madrid is now in good form with six wins in a row, and will have to win another if they want to follow Barcelona til the end.
Sebastien Corchia will be the only player missing for Sevilla, but Lucas Hernández, Stefan Savic (injured) and the China-rumored, Yannick Carrasco will be missing for Atleti.
This should be an intense and fun game to watch. Maybe not that many goals, but I can see goals from both teams coming. Maybe a draw then?
Levante - Real Betis
How is it to be winning? That should be the question for a Levante-side never winning. Without a win since november in the league, things are not looking good for the team from Valencia. It will not be any easier playing a side in good form, and with a crazy game against Real Madrid last weekend losing 5-3 after a great first half where they outplayed Los Blancos.
Jefferson Lerma, Alegria and Raúl Fernández will still be missing for Levante, while Sanabria, Feddal and Joel Campbell is out for the visitors.
Considering Levante’s bad form I can’t see them win here either. Maybe a 2-1 to Betis in this game.
