Playa Negra Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica: Miles of Black Sand Beach
Playa Negra is a black sand beach which stretches for more than 10km from the west entrance of Puerto Viejo town all the way northeast to the Cahuita National Park.
A spectacular natural getaway, the beach consists of black sand with many sand dollars. The sand is dark and fitting to its name Playa Negra (which means the black beach) and also it makes this beach even more special.
Playa Negra has suitable waves for beginner surfers but most people like to swim, relax and walk on the shores of the beach. The beach is kept to the highest ecological standard. It proudly carries the bandera azul ecológica flag. Because of this extreme level of protection, swimming in the waters here is an absolutely magical experience!
It’s a wonderful beach with Caribbean vibes to visit if you’re looking for an escape from the crowds of Puerto Viejo.
Playa Negra will always stay in our hearts, it is a magical place.
Stay awesome and Steem on!
