The Utter Still
I like giving background on my photos. I feel like it gives a better representation of the emotions and thoughts that went into the creation of it. I took this photo early in the morning across the bay in Homer, Alaska. It was a chill morning, and the fog was settled on the water; a lack of wind also contributing to an absolutely still scene. I did my best to capture this. Thoughts? Constructive criticism is always appreciated. If you comment, I'm most likely to follow. ;) (There's an odd checkerboard effect that occurred somehow, but I don't hate it.)

That's brilliant, well done...totally some Michael Kenna-esque stuff here. Keep it up! I'd be interested to hear what causes that checkerboard effect as well, keep us posted on that.
I really wish I knew, and that I could say it was intentional. I think it was just some sort of postproccesing glitch though. :(
