Clouds!

Clouds are amazing!

Like electricity, clouds are amorphous structures that we admire more than we understand, for their physical reality is so much more than their obvious function.

These elemental creations of ethereal substance are water droplets grouping together to hang out in the sky, bringing us rain, storms, contrast and emotion.

I love clouds - looking at them, photographing them, drifting amongst their whispy remnants clinging to a mountain plateau. Whenever I hear the word, the classic song, Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell, comes to mind:

Rows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way

I googled sounds for cloud related songs to find a mood. Robert Fripp is an incredible dude. This song is from his album, Temple in the Clouds.

Thought you could listen while you enjoy the photos...

These are a few of my older cloud photos taken between 2012-2015, created with a cheap Canon point and shoot, I think 12 megapixels? Quality on some of these is a bit grainy.

This post topic was suggested by a well known alien fractal mango dealer from the southern desert, so shout out to @soundwavesphoton.

I think he was high because his head is always in the clouds, and while some people might not think cloud photos are all that fascinating, I happened to agree with him that clouds are the stuff of imagination!

Wow, you got some gorgeous ones over the years. Hope they bring you some joy. I would sporadically listen to mixes I made from before I was depressed and it reminded me for a bit of how I can feel and it usually snuck some happiness past the guards lol

yeah photography is the one thing that makes me happy even tho i suck at it. im learning to ignore and avoid the people who do things that twerk my mood. its just not worth letting them destroy my day.

Woooow beautiful pictures! Yeah I love clouds too. I remember when I was little (I was like 4), I used to think that the clouds were a completely different mysterious world from earth. And I think looking at the clouds is always inspiring because they have different shapes and can help come up with some creativity.

thank you! and ty for resteem :) these are actually somewhat crappy photos because they were taken on a crap camera, but still awesome shots in some way. i'll do more so you can see difference

You are very welcome! :) I think that you are being too harsh on yourself but yeah I did see the other pictures from the other post and they are of a better quality indeed.

I know @soyrosa always want it to be cloudy when she goes for making photos.

otherwise the sky is too boring :)

Clouds give the sky a certain dimension I suppose, althoughI must admit that a clear blue sky also has my heart!

i like both. https://steemit.com/landscapephotography/@torico/release. thats a link with what i consider to be better photos, yet the post made half of this one. shrugs this just dont make sense to me. ty for stopping by to look, thats sweet of you!

Great collection of cloud shots! Looking forward to more!

When I was a child I used to concentrate to imagine the clouds shaped at my will... closest thing to magic the way I remember it. Now it's even in some of my songs...

but when she's alone leaves swirl and clear her path
and suddenly above clouds drift in fancy shapes
But when she's alone she gives in in careless flight
and thus she becomes the Queen of her Realm

that's lovely! I had something similar, where if i wished hard enough, i could make it snow. oddly enough, i knew this wouldn't work off season. strange how fantasy often reflects the land where our mind worked when we were children!

oh the power of imagination of a child...still I try not to lose that "spark", so try it next time it's winter, maybe it will snow

Beautiful shots. It's like each was painted with careful strokes. And the song you've added is really fitting and trancing.

Awesome cloud pictures! Some of them are just surreal looking. Colorado skies are just so diverse, probably because of the way the mountains affect the weather patterns.

i do try to make a few of them look slightly surreal. the last photo is a blur effect (moving the camera while taking a photo). one above that has a lens effect. but yeah other than tweaking the light and color a bit these are all as they were. this is why I love CO so much, the skies are truly amazing.

@torico
Awesome clear weather.
Beautiful
