SLC22-W3 / Human Rights (DDHH)
Hi friends,
I am Jyoti from India. Here I am going to participate in the SLC S22 W3 contest: https://steemit.com/law-s22w3/@anasuleidy/slc22-w3-derechos-humanos-ddhh organised by @anasuleidy
Part -1
According to what you have explained in class, say in your own words and explanations whether you consider that human rights are respected or violated in your country.
Human rights are fundamental rights that everyone is entitled to regardless of their background or circumstances. In India, these rights are enshrined in the Constitution. which guarantees equality and dignity for all citizens. The saying goes “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights” resonates not only with various international declarations but also deeply within the Indian legal framework. But even with these strict provisions Human rights violations continue in various forms across the country.
India's Constitution is a beacon of hope for many, providing a comprehensive set of fundamental rights that aims to protect citizens from discrimination on the basis of caste. creed, religion, skin colour, gender and nationality. Article 14 guarantees equality under the law. Articles 19 to 22 are free from conditions on speech or assembly. Protect various freedoms such as movement. These rights are not just ambitions. They are the cornerstone of a democratic society committed to justice and freedom.
According to the laws of your country, say whether Human Rights have the same value as the Constitution of your country, whether they are supra-Constitutional or whether the Constitution prevails over international treaties on Human Rights.
Our country India is one of the largest democracies and has a very good constitutional infrastructure. Despite these strong legal frameworks But a number of challenges also undermine the realization of human rights across India. Reports of violence against marginalized communities by extremist groups continue to surface. Religious discrimination and honor killings demonstrate the grim reality that social norms trump legal protections. Such actions are not only a violation of personal rights. But it also creates an atmosphere of fear and instability among vulnerable populations.
Additionally, cast discrimination is an ongoing problem in many regions. Lower caste people are often deprived of basic needs such as food, shelter, education and health care. This is very important to living life with dignity. Employment opportunities remain limited due to systematic bias and social stigma for these groups that continue to flourish despite legislative measures to Promote equality.
There is an urgent need for people to have human rights awareness to effectively address these prevalent issues. Educational initiatives that inform individuals about their rights can empower them to challenge injustice. Civil society organizations also play an important role in supporting victims of human rights violations by providing There is a support system. Raise awareness of available legal assistance.
Moreover, it is essential for government bodies to enforce laws robustly against violators of human rights. This includes stringent action against hate crimes and discrimination while ensuring that all citizens have access to essential services without prejudice.
Part II
Mention any organization in your region that has jurisdiction over Human Rights. According to your assessment, say how useful it has been and how its operation has influenced the respect for Human Rights in your country.
In our country of india The National Human Rights Commission is very important in the Indian judicial system. Promote human rights for all and assist citizens with justice and empowerment. India's National Human Rights Commission is aligned with the Paris Principles. This was adopted at the first international workshop on national institutions. Held in Paris in October 1991, the agenda of the workshop was to promote and protect human rights.
The Commission should adhere to principles such as: Human rights are rights that everyone is entitled to without discrimination on the basis of race, gender, religion or colour. Types of human rights include: political rights; economic rights social and civil rights and cultural rights
Have you or someone close to you been a victim of human rights violations? If so, what was the situation and were you able to assert your rights?
Not too close, but overall in india human rights violations were witnessed during the Manipur riots in 2023. Incidents such as sexual violence, burning of shops and houses, and demolition of places of worship have taken place. According to media reports, from May 3 to November 15, 175 people have died in this violence. More than 60,000 people have been displaced.
Parte III
Caso práctico 1.
As per my opinion, this is an accidental incident and the government cannot be there to provide security at the scene of the incident. If such crimes are committed, the government can only punish the criminals. Since the criminals have been punished in this case, the victim cannot file any further case. She cannot expect anything more. At the same time, since her son, who was her livelihood, has passed away, she can get some amount of compensation from the criminals.
Caso práctico 2.
Delaying the verdict is tantamount to denying justice. In this case, the government itself should be considered guilty. If the struggle is non-violent, then the reason for his struggle should be investigated and a solution should be given to it, besides, it is not right for the government to oppress and punish the fighters. In this case, the fighter has been punished and he has been taken away, the verdict for which was not given on time, and human rights have been taken away. Therefore, I see the court as a culprit in this. The judges who handled this case should also be punished. The government should also be punished. Justice and compensation should be given to the victims.
I would like to invite my friends

Thank you very much for the invitation Mrs. jyoti-thelight.
I think we need to learn and understand about the law related to human rights. Because this is a basic right for every individual regardless of background and ethnicity. Although in practice, the law is not fully realizable
Best wishes and hopefully you will continue to contribute the best to this platform and be able to inspire us.
