Dealing with a Collections Agency, the easy way.

in #law8 years ago

Debt Collectors:
What they have not told you is that debt collection agencies buy the debt that you owe from the PRINCIPLE (government, phone company, etc).
Debt collectors then send you a demand for the money to be paid, maybe by invoice.
You have no debt with these collection agencies. What they are trying to do is capitlaise on there profits. If they buy your debt form the PRINCIPLE at €20 for every €100 you owe, and you owe €300, then they can possibly make €240 collecting from you.
The thing is, you have no contract with these agencies, they just bought your debt, they own the debt now. you are clear of it.
They will try to harass you for the money. It is only bullying. Stand up to the bully and they will go away as they have no legal grounds to get the money from you, UNLESS, you acknowledge the debt, if you do you lose.
If you have signed a contract with a collections agency, you lose.
So, DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE the debt, at all!
Write to them, registered Post, and ask them:

To Collections Agency, Date:26/07/2015
(put in the invoice number or whatever reference you have for their debt)
What evidence to you have, that I am surety in this matter?
If you bring this to court I will invoice you, and inform the court I have done so for wasting my time.
